We would like to congratulate all of our K-8 students who received certificates for Core Values, Perfect Attendance, All A's and A/B Honor Roll, STAR Student & Arts Awards for the 1st semester of the 2022-2023 school year. We would also like to thank all of our families and friends who came out to support our TASPA Stars.

We also would like to thank our teachers who go above and beyond with making sure that our students are successful in the classroom each and everyday.

(Tuscaloosa, Ala.) The Paul R Jones Museum is pleased to announce Patterns of Creativity, the annual collaborative exhibition with area school students, the UA Department of Art and Art History and the museum. This year’s show features artwork by sixth grade students at The Alberta School of Performing Arts (TASPA) and artwork from the Paul R. Jones Collection of American Art at The University of Alabama. The exhibition opens Monday, January 23, 2023. A reception for the artists will be held during downtown Tuscaloosa’s First Friday Art Walk, February 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., and the show will run through February 24, 2023.

It is critical that students attend school every day. If your child is going to be absent, please send a note. Please note that you have 5 parent excuses per year. Once those are used, a doctor's note will be required. If that is not provided, they will count as unexcused absences.

Just a reminder our school day begins at 7:55 and concludes at 2:40. If your child arrives to school after 7:55 a.m., a parent, guardian, or whoever brought the child to school MUST sign them in at the front office.

Parents, we need your help in making our dismissal process SAFE and QUICK. If your child is a car rider, you must pick him/her up through the carpool line. We will not allow parents to walk up and pick up students assigned as car riders. To help us get you in and out of the carpool lane quickly, please remember your carpool tag. Complete the car tag with the name (first and last) and grade level of each child riding with you and place the tag on your dash near the windshield (on the passenger side) upon arriving on campus. We appreciate your assistance in keeping our TASPA Stars safe! BOTH LANES ARE OPEN FOR MORNING DROP OFF AND AFTERNOON PICK UP.

Our Extended Day program will start back on Monday, January 9, 2023. Parents if your child is a part of our extended day program please be sure that there is a plan in place for them to be picked up from school by normal pick-up time.

Parents, please note that the extended day time is 3:15-5:30 p.m. Any students picked up after 5:30 p.m., parents you will be charged a $10 late fee starting January 9, 2023. This fee will be due at the time of pick-up.

Our front office hours are from 8:00 am-3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Please ring the bell at the front door for assistance and be sure to present your I.D. when you are signing in to visit or check out your child.
