EHS Play "Spy School" premiers this week!
EHS Play - This week Thursday & Saturday @7pm!
It's 1961, and ordinary teenager Jane Doe, played by our lead female M'Cheila Rader, is drafted by the CIA to become a super-secret secret agent. Her mission? Infiltrate an American high school to locate a Russian spy about to send classified space program information to the USSR. But it's not easy being undercover, especially when your spy family consists of a femme fatale "mom," (Natalie Karten) a 40-year-old "younger brother," (Zeke Reazin) and the most dashingly narcissistic "dad" ever played by Caleb Reazin. Add that to obnoxious fellow students, a blatantly sexist curriculum, and the horror that is prom, and you've got a mission that might be impossible.
Come out and watch M'Cheila and our wonderful cast of 27 amazing actors and actresses put on a great comedy! We will be performing in the PAC at Eudora High School on Feb. 20 @ 7pm and Feb. 22 @ 7pm. See you there!

Varsity Girls Basketball - Coach Parker
On Tuesday, the Lady Cardinals went on the road to face Ottawa for the second time this season. The team came out hot from the start by racing to a 22-0 lead by the start of the 2nd quarter. The hot shooting lasted all night as they defeated the Cyclones, 72-26. The Cardinals were led in scoring by sophomore Harper Schreiner and senior Riley Hiebert with 16 and 15 respectively. Twelve players in all scored for the Cardinals. Junior Jayla Pierce had 6 rebounds while sophomore Sophia Ewy had 4. Junior Melia Martin contributed 9 points and 3 assists. On defense, the team had many steals on the night with Schreiner having 5 while senior Reagan Hiebert added 3.
The team hosted Paola on Friday for the Winter Royalty game. The Lady Cardinals overcame a very cold shooting night by increasing the defensive intensity and hitting timely free throws in defeating the Panthers, 41-36. Schreiner led the team in scoring with 14. Both Hieberts had 7 on the night, as well as, sophomore Emma Durr who returned from an injury. The strong defensive effort was led by Reagan Hiebert who led the team with 5 steals. Durr and Riley Hiebert each took a charge for the Cardinals. Lady Cards travel to Louisburg tonight, 6:00pm tipoff.
JV Girls Basketball - Coach Schreiner
C-Team Girls Basketball - Coach Stueve
Due to low numbers, Bonner Springs was only able to play one-quarter of C-Team. Our lady cards played a fantastic 8 minutes winning the quarter 13-5. Lead in scoring by Freshman Eliza Fewins.
The cardinals had a tough matchup against Ottawa but ultimately were able to improve offensively and put up a tough fight. Freshmen Eliza Fewins led the team in scoring with 11 points and Brittanie Rooney led in rebounds with 9. Final score 19-36.
Ending the busy game week the girls went up against a strong Paola team. The lady cards were able to keep the game within 6 points during the first half. Continuing to improve fundamentally and with great defensive, the C-Team girls were able to keep the game close with a final score of 19-29.
Varsity Boys Basketball - Coach Deterding
JV Boys Basketball - Coach Watkins
On Monday, February 10th the JV team took on Bonner Springs JV in their makeup game. We played a solid game against them from start to finish. The boys played good D and kept people in front for the most part. We ended up winning 41-37 and were led by Traeger Rader (10th) with 17 pts, Landon Watkins (10th) with 4 Asst and 4 Steals and Ben Thorne (11th) with 7 rebounds. On Tuesday the team traveled to Ottawa to face them for the 3rd time this year. We came out tough but had a few minutes in the 3rd quarter of complacency and Ottawa will always capitalize on that. We held tough and regained our composure to get another win over OHS this year. 49 Always great to beat Ottawa 3 times in a year. We were led by Traeger Rader (10th) with 18 pts and 2 steals, Cody Loganbill (10th) with 10 pts and 5 rebounds. On Friday we were at home against Paola to end a big 3 game week. We played a tough Paolo team that played 5 varsity players throughout the game in some sort of fashion. We had some really good defense and we were taking it to them for the most part. The boys played a solid game from top to bottom and I was very proud of them for getting the big win. We won 49-40 and were led by Traeger Rader (10th) with 16 pts, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists along with Landon Watkins (10th) 15 pts and 2 steals. Three big wins this week, great group effort.
9th Grade Boys Basketball - Coach Zimmerman
Last week the freshman boys had a busy week playing three games. On Monday, they played an earlier rescheduled game at the high school against Bonner Springs. Eudora got out to a hot start scoring 20 points while holding Bonner to 4 points. Jaiden Bender dominated the first quarter scoring 12 points. Eudora led at half 31-14. In the second half, Eudora picked it up on the offensive end scoring 36 points to beat Bonner Springs 67-35. Bender led the team with 18 points including swishing a three-point basket. Conor Dunback closely followed with 16 points and Parker Hurla finished with 10 points.
The next night, the freshman boys traveled to Ottawa for a basketball game but unfortunately a lot of the time it looked more like a wrestling meet. Both teams played a rough and physical game. The game was dominated by sloppy play and turnovers. Eudora won 49-39. Eudora was paced by Cole Parker, Micah Barron, and Conor Dunback who all had 9 points. Parker sparked the team by hitting 3 three-pointers.
Eudora finished the week by playing Paola at home on Friday night. Eudora displayed their dominating defense by holding Paola to zero first-quarter points. The cardinals quickly turned the basketball game into a track meet scoring several easy shots including three alley-oop layups. At the end of the first half, Eudora led 36-10. Eudora then coasted to a 53-25 victory. Conor Dunback and Andrew Ahlander led the team scoring 10 points apiece. Octavius Lyles led the team with 7 rebounds and Jaiden Bender had a team-high 6 steals. The freshman boys look to remain unbeaten as they travel to Louisburg Tuesday night.
Wrestling - Coach Andrews
Last Tuesday the cardinal wrestlers hosted Piper for Senior night. Piper is ranked number six in the state right now and we came into this dual knowing that it was going to be tough. The Cardinals were up 36-34 going into the last match. A loss would mean losing the dual and a win would secure the team’s victory. Junior, Will Schreiner would win the final match with a major decision and secure the dual win. The Cardinals would win with a score of 40-34. Congrats to all wrestlers!
On Saturday, the Cardinals travel down to Ottawa to compete in the frontier league tournament. The Cardinals placed fifth overall as a team. They were shy of third place by 12 points. Without a couple of close losses and not having a full lineup the wrestlers could have easily been runner ups. The Cardinals would land juniors Holden Andrews and Cael Lynch in the finals. Lynch would fall short of victory against an opponent he has yet to beat but he is getting closer. Andrews would go on to dominate his opponent in the finals and secure the league championship. Congratulations on an outstanding performance by each and every wrestler.
Placing for the Cardinals were as follows;
Larry-4th
Will-4th
Hold-1st
Cael-2nd
Alex-4th
Devon-4th
Christopher-3rd
The Cardinals will compete in regionals this Friday and Saturday down in Louisburg. There will be some fantastic matches this weekend. I encourage everyone to come down and support these guys as they have put in a long, hard and grueling season. I expect these boys to make some real noise and we are going to see some awesome upsets! I am excited to see what this weekend has in store for these guys. I hope to see you guys down there supporting them!
GO CARDS!!!!
Forensics - Coach Johnson
Ben Posch competed in Original Oration and ranked 6th in round 1, 2nd in round 2, and 3rd in round 3. Unfortunately, he did not qualify for the final round, but received some great critiques to improve at the next tournament. Ben also competed in Domestic Extemporaneous and placed 2nd in round 1, 1st in Round 2, and 2nd in Round 2. This qualified Ben to compete in the final round, where he placed 1st place. This automatically qualifies Ben to compete in the State competition!
