Bhavya
During the westward expansion, many people went because the east was getting very full and people wanted more land. The Appalachians was home to the American Indians. When they became a state the constitution had said we can not harm American Indians. The explorer Daniel Boone had ignored them and still went on. While crossing they were able to clear the Cumberland Gap. When they crossed the fight with Indians was on since they had come to take their land . The chief had his family killed by the settlers and they were all so nice to them. Later they were all killed and the settlers took over their land.
