Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States of America. It is 68 square miles and is located on the northern bank of the Potomac River. The White House, the Supreme Court (SCOTUS), and the Capital Building, along with the three branches of government, can be found in this city. D.C. has a population of approximately 601,723 (2010) people. A fun fact is its motto is Justitia omnibus or "Justice for All."
