MONDAY MATH MANIA: MAKING MATH MEANINGFUL - MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4th

This family friendly event is sponsored by the CUSD 303 District Title I Advisory Committee for families at Anderson Elementary, Davis Primary School, Richmond Intermediate School and Munhall Elementary School. Parents and guardians are invited to participate in a session in which the elementary math curriculum and Eureka Math resource will be explained. This hands-on session will focus on how elementary math is taught in the district and how parents and guardians can support math at home. While the adults are busy learning in their session, students will be making and playing math games that can be used at home. Families will come together for pizza and to share what they have learned in the sessions and participate in more fun math activities.

DAVIS PRIMARY NEWS

FIRE PREVENTION

The St. Charles Fire Dept. visited Davis Primary today. Our students learned how important it is to make a plan for exiting their homes and designating a meeting place outside of your home for your family to assemble in case of an emergency. Have you made a plan and practiced it? Take time this weekend to work together as a family to put one in place.

DAVIS FALL PARTY AND COSTUME INFORMATION - REMINDER

Fall parties are two weeks away. Our celebration is scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2019. The parade will run from 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm and classroom parties will run from 1:45 pm - 2:35 pm. Room Parents are invited to go to classrooms at 1:15 pm for party set up and to assist with costumes after they have checked in at the office.

  • Students in grades K -2 should bring their costumes in a bag. Students should be able to put on their own costumes. Students may put on costumes at 1:00 p.m. (1/2 Day Kdg students will come to school in costumes.)

  • We are a primary school so costumes should not be violent or scary in nature – No blood, guts, or weapons. We will not be wearing masks. Make-up is discouraged because it is difficult to apply. No bare midriffs or scant clothing.

  • Parents may line up around the perimeter of the Kdg playground blacktop on the north side of the bldg to watch the parade. (If raining, we will parade in the cafeteria and gym.)

  • Only the 5 room parents who are signed up will enter the building to facilitate the parties. Younger siblings should remain at home.

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

October 30, 2019

Thompson Middle School Cafeteria

6:30-8:00 p.m.

Join us for an evening with national digital citizenship speaker Josh Ochs, who will also be spending time at both middle and high schools. Josh talks to students about their future and how their digital footprint can have an impact. Josh shows parents how they can protect their children on 40+ popular apps. He’ll walk parents through the dangers of each app, where teens might be hiding their activity from parents, and how parents can keep their children safe.

Josh has Parent University resources that will be available to all District 303 families for the entire school year. Watch videos, learn about the latest apps, and find out how to keep your children safe at your convenience.
