Message from Principal Lunt

Hello Oak Tree Families,

The last day of the 21-22 school year has arrived and we are all better and stronger as a result! Today we held our Kindergarten ceremony and our final two SOAR assemblies for the year. So many happy memories and feelings of pride as we reflect on this school year!

Today we sent our 6th graders onto bigger things as we clapped them out with a parade through campus. As usual, there were more tears than most students thought they would shed. Some of our departing staff joined in the parade for their last stroll in our hallways with students. So, we bid farewell to the outgoing 6th graders, families who are moving, and staff who are moving into different phases of life. You have left your mark on Oak Tree and we will always feel your character and contributions.

By way of reminder, the school office will be open Monday through Thursday through June 23rd, then will reopen on Monday, July 11. We will hold an Open House/Meet-the-teacher on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 5:00 to 6:30. School starts on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Enjoy your summer!

Mr. Lunt

Nurse Costello News

I would like to inform my Oak Tree Families that I retired at the end of this school year. It is bitter sweet that I will be retiring after being a Nurse for 40+ years, 23 of those years as a School Nurse with the last 13 years right here at Oak Tree. It is with a heavy heart in doing this but I have decided the time has come for me to start my retirement and spend more time with my family and aging parents. I trust that the friendships I have developed while at Oak Tree will last well into the future. The Oak Tree staff lets me know there are 'big shoes' to fill as Nurse Lindsay Horneman has been transitioning into this role for the 22/23 school year.

Hoping your summer break includes lots of family time with laughter and fabulous memories.

Enjoy reading some good books with the Summer Reading Programs right here at Oak Tree along with:

Oak Tree PTO

A huge thank you goes out to our PTO board, especially our President and Treasurer who will be continuing in their roles next year. They have masterminded and ensured the flawless execution of this year’s events and many others in the past 4+ years. It would be remiss to not also thank this year’s Vice President who has volunteered her time and effort not only to Oak Tree but also another local school. She has been a very valuable member and resource to the team this year!

A great big thank you also goes to the teachers and staff at Oak Tree. They offer a large amount of support to our volunteer organization and provide a lot of the manpower required to complete our vision and mission.

Another warm welcome goes to our new Vice President and Secretary, both of whom have been involved in volunteering with PTO as general members while their students have attended Oak Tree. We are happy and excited to have you join the board!

The secretary writing this newsletter will miss working as closely with the board but looks forward to volunteering with PTO in another capacity next year. Have a great summer, Eagles!

Oak Tree Gardeners

GARDENERS: The planters have taken a toll with the hot weather. Some planters still have kale and swiss chard growing.

We have harvested some artichokes and when you miss picking them at the opportune time they eventually will bring on this beautiful flower.
