The Home and School Connection for Klein's Littlest Learners

Big picture

Week of April 6

Hello Owl Family!

I want to take this opportunity to commend our Grace England Community--staff, parents, and students--for everyone's commitment and hard work. Our teachers are saying that you and your children have done a terrific job with At-Home Learning. In this unique situation, we are so thankful for your support at home.

Now to share some updated information with you. As you may have heard, Klein ISD just announced the extended closure of schools through May 4, 2020. In the coming weeks, I am confident that we can work together as a community to successfully provide the virtual support your children need to continue their learning.

I have added two more wonderful resources to this week’s newsletter (links provided below):

  • Wide Open Schools: A free collection of the best online learning experiences and activities for kids organized by grade and subject
  • Healthy at Home: A Toolkit for Supporting Families Impacted by COVID-19

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or to me with any questions or concerns.

See you next week!

Mrs. Perry

Pre-K At Home Checklist

As you work with your child at home, please keep in mind that kids learn best with hands-on experiences, not memorization or drill practice. These early years with our children should be about fostering a love to play, explore, and learn! Also, it is important to note that our children are all different and gifted in unique ways. Obviously, if your child has special needs or is delayed in a particular area, this won’t necessarily be relevant to your child.
