Elementary Birthday Policy
"Birthdays: Please coordinate with your child’s teacher one week prior. Parents are welcome to bring commercially prepared baked goods or non edible ‘goodies.’ Treats will be shared at a prearranged day and time agreed upon by the teacher based on the policy of each individual elementary school. Please do not send balloons or flowers to your child’s classroom as it causes a distraction to the instruction day. As a district we value inclusion of all. For this reason, IF you send birthday party invitations to school to be distributed, you MUST invite all students in the classroom."
For information on other policies, please visit the Elementary Handbook.
Fall Fest
Storybook Parade
A staging map for parents will be shared soon. You may park in the front or side (bus) parking lots and you may bring your own chair. Please do not park in the car rider line.
DEA Red Ribbon Helicopter Presentation
During the month of October, the Texas Joint Counterdrug Task Force (JCDTF), in partnership with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), local law enforcement agencies (LEA), and community-based organizations (CBO), bring the message of drug demand awareness, reduction and prevention to Elementary and Middle School students.
The helicopter will be landing around 8:15 and then the presentation will begin. This event is open to parents and the community. All guests will enter through the bus parking lot gate. Please make sure you have a photo I.D. Please see the map below for staging purposes. You may bring your own chair and sit with your child's grade level.
October is Bullying Prevention Month
October is National Bullying Prevention month. Coach Pena, Counselor Mrs. Mirkes, and Assistant Principal Mrs. Hudgens will be presenting a training for the students on October 18-19 during specials.
We love for parents to partner with us to create a positive, caring, and inclusive school by reinforcing the same message. Here are the main points of the presentation, so that we are all using the same vocabulary.
Bullying is something that is said or done to HURT, HARM, or HUMILIATE.
It involves an imbalance of power, is often repeated over time, and is done intentionally.
Bullying can be physical, verbal, emotional/social, or electronic/cyber.
A bystander is someone who sees bullying occur and does/says nothing.
A reporter or “upstander” is someone who reports it to an adult and seeks help! (Don’t be a bystander, be an UPSTANDER!”
Excerpt from our Student Handbook:
Bullying is defined in state law as a single significant act or a pattern of acts by one or more students directed at another student that exploits an imbalance of power and involves engaging in written or verbal expression, expression through electronic means, or physical conduct that:
• Has the effect or will have the effect of physically harming a student, damaging a student’s property, or placing a student in reasonable fear of harm to the student’s person or of damage to the student’s property;
• Is sufficiently severe, persistent, or pervasive enough that the action or threat creates an intimidating, threatening, or abusive educational environment for a student;
• Materially and substantially disrupts the educational process or the orderly operation of a classroom or school; or
• Infringes on the rights of the victim at school.

UIL For The 2021-2022 School Year Is Postponed
UIL Academics is a program of academic competition that Liberty Hill ISD elementary schools have proudly participated in throughout past years. Last school year was filled with unknowns and UIL competitions for many elementary schools were not scheduled. For the 2021-2022 school year, all LHISD elementary schools will once again not be participating. We have collaborated about the expectations, responsibilities and staff needed to support a fun and healthy experience for all LHISD elementary students. We will be prepared to compete in the 2022-2023 school year.
Thank you for your understanding.
COMING SOON: BOOK FAIR October 25-29
We are excited to have our first in-person book fair! Our book fair is part of a reading event that brings to school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose books will motivate them to read more! And let’s not forget- the book fair is a great fundraiser that both parents and kids can enjoy together! Please remember that all purchases benefit our school library and help us fund library activities, author visits, and purchase more books.
Each homeroom will have the opportunity to preview the book fair and make a wish list before the book fair begins. Students will also have two additional opportunities to visit the book fair to make purchases. The homeroom teachers will send out more information regarding which days your child’s class will visit the book fair.
Book Fair Dates:
October 25th-29th: During the school day for students
October 25: Book Fair Family Night 4-7 pm
October 27: Book Fair Family Night 4-7 pm
