KET Social Studies Arts Toolkit
The Social Studies Arts Toolkit includes multimedia resources designed for use in social studies and arts classrooms. Integrating arts into the social studies curriculum is an excellent way to allow students with diverse learning modalities to become more effective learners. The arts are a critical component of social studies and reflect the unique cultural perspectives of diverse cultures. Because artists respond to and impact the societies in which they live and create, the arts also provide a window into other times and places. The resources in the Social Studies Arts Toolkit are organized by social studies topic. Integrated teaching offers general information and ideas for lesson plans that integrate social studies and the arts.

StoryCorps: The Great Thanksgiving Listen
StoryCorps: The Great Thanksgiving Listen. The Great Thanksgiving Listen is a national education project that empowers high school students to create an oral history of the contemporary United States by recording an interview with an elder over Thanksgiving weekend using the StoryCorps App. Interviews are entered into the StoryCorps archive at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and on StoryCorps.me where they become an invaluable resource for future historians and provide families with a priceless piece of personal history.
