Presidents' Update
Hello McKinley Families,
A very big thank you to Lori Brandenburg for coordinating last week's Winter Sing bake sale that raised close to $350, and a special thank you to all of you who made treats and those of you who supported the bake sale.
Dana Wurzburger, thank you for organizing another successful Dine Out at The Corner Bakery and to everyone who supported the Dine Out.

Kids Trivia Night
Get ready to test your knowledge at the 2nd Annual Kids Trivia Night!
Friday, February 21
6 p.m. - Registration Opens
6:20 p.m. - First Round of Trivia Begins
The Details:
Kids participate in teams of six to answer trivia questions, geared towards varying grade levels, during multiple rounds of emcee led questions. Trivia teams are encouraged to create a name and table theme for their team (think table decorations and costumes). There will be a prize for the team with the best team name/theme!
Teams will compete in one of two divisions based on grade level. Teams can be made up of mixed grade levels within their division:
Division A - Grades JK-2
Division B - Grades 3-5
Participants can form their own team of six, a partial team or register as an individual to be placed on a team. Every team must register with an adult team captain who will attend the event with the team.
Cost:
$5/child
Registration Deadline:
Advanced registration is required by Tuesday, February 18th.

Box Tops for McKinley
Lets keep those Box Tops coming in! We are halfway to our $1000 yearly goal...keep it up everyone!
And as many of us know the Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for McKinley. Participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label.
Moving forward, instead of clipping from packages, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked to build a new, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app that allows you to scan your store receipt and instantly download Box Tops to McKinley's earnings online. No need to clip and keep track of all those Box Top labels! Be sure to download the Box Tops app today and start scanning!

As the new program takes hold, you may still find the traditional Box Tops clips on many products so keep clipping and saving! We will have another collection period during the month of February to gather all those labels laying around the house.
It will again be simple and easy...gather all the box top clips together, count how many you have, label a zipper bag with the number and you're done. Have your child bring the bag in to class and we'll take care of the rest. The only thing we ask is to please make sure that the clips have a valid expiration date on them.

Dine Out Schedule
Hi everyone! The MOD Pizza Dine Out event earned $217 for McKinley which is great! Corner Bakery's numbers haven't been reported yet but thanks to those who participated. Please add the following dates to your calendar to support our school. Thanks so much! -Dana Wurzburger
Monday, February 17th, Saz's at 5539 W State Street will be donating 15% back to McKinley when you mention that you are there for the fundraiser when you order. This fundraiser is for the entire time Saz's is open that day (11 am - 9 pm) and gift cards do count toward our total! They take reservations for any size party at 414-453-2410. Hope to see you there!
Friday, March 13th during their business hours (7 am - 3pm) that day Miss Molly’s Cafe and Pastry Shop on center and Swan will graciously donate 20% of sales that mention McKinley back to our school! This is a new restaurant for us for Dine Out. Before work or if you are off Friday come and grab some coffee, pastry, or a meal to benefit our school and let them know you are there for McKinley.
Wednesday, April 8th Colectivo Coffee on Swan and North will be giving McKinley 5% of their total prepared food and drink sales all day! For this event you don't have to even mention you are with our school unless you want to thank them for supporting us in this way. (Gift cards and bagged coffee do not count in this total, though.) We are very excited about this new collaboration and support from Colectivo!

Destination Imagination Tournament Appraisers Needed
McKinley's Destination Imagination teams have hit the ground running this year! The kids will be presenting all their hard work at the regional Destination Imagination tournament on Saturday March 14th at Muskego High School.
The tournament is in need of volunteer appraisers (a kinder, gentler word for 'judges') to help appraise all the teams presenting. It will be an all-day commitment. Each school with teams represented at the tournament are highly encouraged to find appraisers. Interested?

Support the 5th Grade Celebration
Sunday, February 23 - Pizzeria Piccola - 11am - 9pm - 25% of sales will be given back to go toward McKinley’s 5th Grade Celebration. Can’t dine out? Frozen pre-orders on pizzas and soup will be taken.

How Do I Become a Member of the PTO?
You already are! If you are a parent, guardian or teacher at McKinley Elementary School, you are a member of the PTO.
Interested in becoming more involved? The PTO is always looking for help. Volunteer opportunities in areas of marketing, communication, social media coordination, event coordination, website design, merchandising and more! There are volunteer opportunities that fit everyone's schedule - during school hours, after school hours, work from home hours and one time event hours.
Please plan to attend the PTO Meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the followings dates:

May 14th
