Catholic Schools

Week January 31-Feb. 5, 2016

Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service

To kick off Catholic Schools’ Week, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School will host an Open House from right after the 9:00 am Mass until 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 31st. Students attending the 9:00 am Mass are asked to wear their school uniform. The Student Ambassadors will lead guided tours of our school. In addition, the Our Lady of Perpetual Help School Principal, teachers, School Board, and parents will be available to assist you in your decision to enroll or re-register. Please join us in celebrating our wonderful Catholic School family!! All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Please ask your families, neighbors, friends, co-workers to consider enrolling their children in our school. Invite them to spend time with us at our Open House. Our goal continues to be an increase in enrollment. A personal touch from you can be very effective.

Please remind everyone that tuition assistance is available through a confidential application for Diocesan Tuition Assistance. Applications are available online.

The deadline for the assistance is March 3, 2016. The 2015 Income Tax Return is needed. It is imperative that families fill out the diocesan tuition assistance forms (PSAS), in order, to be considered for parish tuition reduction. The SCRIP program can also help earn credit toward your tuition.

Box Tops For Education

Please continue to send in the box tops!

The cold weather is here!

Please make sure that your child/children are dressed appropriately for the weather (hat, gloves, sweaters, umbrellas etc.)

Although your kids may not be sweating as much as they do in warmer months, they still need to keep hydrated. Low-sugar juices that are high in vitamin C, decaffeinated tea and water are great choices to help kids stay hydrated.

Good nutrition can help children fight off colds and the flu. Snack time is a great opportunity to sneak in some extra nutrients; try dried and fresh fruits, sliced raw vegetables, whole-wheat/whole-grain crackers with cheese, and yogurt.

Our General PTA meeting in the PJR will take place on Monday, February 8.

Upcoming PTA events…

February 6 – Casino Night Basket Prep 12-3 Nolan Hall

February 12 – Set up for Casino Night 6PM

February 13 – Casino Night 7-11

Please come out and cheer on our teams, girls and boys. The schedule is on our website.

Notification for all delayed openings or school closings will be communicated through the SchoolMessenger System. In addition, information will be posted on the

school website – www.olphparish.com. Please mark us as a favorite.

Lunch ticket money is collected at 8:45 each Friday morning. It is very important that students get the lunch ticket money to the teacher at collection time. Students bringing lunch ticket money down at different times during the morning means something along the way will be misplaced.

Milk money collection will be Friday, January 8th. $7.20. This will be good thru February 5th.

Please continue to save CAMPBELL PRODUCT LABELS. This campaign benefits our school by providing equipment and supplies. We welcome Jen Coleman to run this program!! Also, remember BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION run by Wendy Marano.

Pretzels will still be sold every Friday at the bargain price of 75¢.

The Our Lady of Perpetual Help School Hot Lunch Program is in need of servers, especially in the new year, who can work from 11:00-1:00 on any or every week day. This is a great way for grandparents to be part of their little one’s school experience. If you would like to help our school by being a lunch server, please call the school office to put your name on our call list.

Your year round gift of time and talent is priceless! We thank you for volunteering. Please remember to sign our volunteer log so we can acknowledge you in the Newsletter. Your children are very proud to see your name here.
