Arkansas Alpha Delta Kappa
February 2020
Hello Sisters,
February is here and the groundhog didn’t see his shadow so maybe spring is not too far off. This year being a Leap year we have an extra day to share our love with our Alpha Delta Kappa sisters.
Saturday, January 25, 2020, we had our Arkansas Alpha Delta Kappa Executive Board Meeting. We had a wonderful time working with officers to encourage the growth of Arkansas Alpha Delta Kappa.
Some of the highlights:
· Patty Snipes, Historian, requested a page from each chapter to be included in the state archives. She also needs new pictures and bios of officers.
· Margaret Monk, by-laws committee chair, presented information about 4 amendments to the state bylaws which will be voted on at our state convention in April.
· Kathey Roberts, membership chair, reported that Mu chapter of ElDorado has disbanded. She reminded the group about the current membership contest to increase numbers.
· Amber Teager emailed her scholarship report to say that high school seniors & their guidance counselors can access the state scholarship form through school cooperatives. The Senior Scholarship and May Payne forms will also be attached to our state newsletter for members to distribute locally.
· Rachel Shankles explained that the TEACH TOO World Understanding Project has been amended to provide classrooms instead of dormitory space. It is no longer safe for Imagine Missions to continue as a residential program & children must live in area homes.

Altruistism
This is a reminder that all chapters should complete the Chapter Altruistic Form found on the International AΔK website by March 15th; however, I am asking that it please be done no later than March 8th in order for me to complete the state report on time.
On the website, go to Library / Documents and Forms / Chapter / Altruistic Report Form / Download. It currently says “Available Soon”; however, the form is there when you click on “Download”.
A copy of the form should be sent to me at bkeisler_72@hotmail.com or mailed to me at 3353 Oliver Lancaster Blvd., Malvern, AR 72104. Please do so as soon as possible. This report covers March 2019 – February 2020.

Proposed Amendments for State Bylaws
Dear Arkansas Chapters,
During our Arkansas Alpha Delta Kappa State Convention on April 4, Delegates (all members attending the Convention) will be voting on Amendments to our State Bylaws proposed at Alpha Delta Kappa International in 2019. According to International, “Proposed state, provincial and national bylaws amendments shall be sent to all chapters at least thirty (30) and not more than ninety (90) days prior to the respective convention.”
Please go over and discuss the proposed attached amendments at a chapter meeting before the convention so all of your members that are attending may be informed voters.
Fraternally,
Margaret W. Monk
Arkansas Bylaws Chairman

ATTENTION HISTORIANS by Patty Snipes, State Historian
As Historians I hope you’ve been taking lots of pictures of your chapter. I am working on the archives for our State President, Chanetta Case. She would like to have a page or two representing your chapter. I have given you a sample of a design. I used PowerPoint which would be fine for you to use unless you have another program you are comfortable with.
Be sure to include: list of officers, picture of your group, picture of your officers, pictures of some of your meetings or pictures of doing Altruistic projects.
3 options to send them:
1. If you are not comfortable with PowerPoint or using a computer and would rather create a page on scrapbook paper you can mail it to me. 8 ½ x 11.
Patty Snipes, 120 Taylor Park Loop, LR, AR, 72211
2. You can mail me the pictures with captions or names attached.
3. Email information to me – plsnipes@sbcglobal.net
Please get this to me ASAP or at least by January. Start planning what you want on the page to represent your chapter.
