1. Thomas Jefferson

The United States doubled because of the Louisiana Purchase, it was $15 million dollars to buy the Louisiana Purchase. In the presidential Jefferson election was in 1800. Jefferson squared off against Adams in another competitive campaign. Jefferson reentered national politics with a more stable Republican Party supporting him in the upcoming presidential election.

2. Meriwether Lewis 3. William Clark

Lewis studied with private tutors, hunted, and learned nature lore. In 1794 Lewis served in the militia during the Whiskey Rebellion. Soon after Jefferson became U.S. president. Lewis became his private secretary.

Clark was 33 when a letter from Lewis invited him to share the leadership of the expedition. The United States President Thomas Jefferson was interested in knowing more about the country west of the Mississippi and in finding a water route to the Pacific Ocean.

Before Clark set out. Word came that Napoleon had sold an immense tract of land to the United States.

4. Sacagawea

Sacagawea was a interpreter for the Lewis and Clark Expedition to the western United States. She traveled thousands of miles through the wilderness with the explorers, from the Dakotas to the Pacific Ocean and back again. 17 and pregnant when the trip started.

5. Missouri River 6. Louisiana Purchase

Missouri river- The headstream of the Missouri is the Red rock river. In the early part of its course the Missouri almost due north. Stretch of the lower river from Sioux City, Iowa, to the River's mouth.

Louisiana Purchase- In 1803 United States President Thomas Jefferson set the example of getting new territory buy purchase rather than by war. The Louisiana Purchase had the states Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma. and Colorado Wyoming, Montana, and Minnesota.

7. Pacific Ocean 8. Zebulon pike

Pacific Ocean- The major Feature of the Pacific Ocean is its enormous size: not only is it the largest ocean in the world. About 64 million square miles (166million square kilometers).Zebulon pike- He entered Spanish territory

9. Sgt charles Floyd 10. Fort Mandon,ND

Sgt. Charles Floyd- He was the only team member who died during the trip. died of Burst appendix.

Fort Mandon,ND- Fort Mandan was the name of the encampment which the Lewis and Clark built for wintering over in 1804-1805. The encampment was located on the Missouri River.
