Scripps National Spelling Bee registration deadline coming Dec. 1
It is time to begin preparations for our annual spelling bees! At Toll Gate Middle School, we hold two separate bees, allowing us to move two champions forward in the National Spelling Bee competition. One champion will be determined for Toll Gate Middle School and another for Gateway Academy. This year, we will use the Scripps National Spelling Bee’s online testing platform for the first phase of our spelling bees in the form of an online qualifying test.
The first step to spelling bee participation for your child is registering for the online testing platform by visiting https://online-test.spellingbee.com.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When you register, you'll be asked to select your child's school.
Gateway homerooms: you must select Gateway Academy.
All other homerooms: select Toll Gate Middle School.
Since we will be holding two separate spelling bees, you must select the schools as listed above to have the appropriate test assigned to your child.
Complete your registration before December 1, 2021.

SchoolStore
Dear Parents,
Our school will be participating in the SchoolStore program this year. This online program helps our school earn cash without students selling door-to-door, collecting money or delivering products. Over 400 merchants, including WalMart, BestBuy, Family Bookstore, Kohl's and Old Navy, have joined together to give back up to 50% of all sales to our school just for shopping through SchoolStore.com.
To shop and support our school, simply go to www.schoolstore.com and select our school.
Participation is key in helping get the word out about our School Store. Soon your child will come home with a parent letter requesting you to help them send emails to friends and family. When you enter email addresses, you'll receive a prize code your child can return the next day for a prize. Thank you for your families' support of our school!
TGMS Family Feedback
We are interested in what you think - click on the link below and share your feedback with us!
This year, more than ever, we know that students and families may need extra support. We strive to be as inclusive as we possibly can. However, at times, we fall short in supporting our students and families with issues and concerns that affect them, such as social justice, mental health, academic support, friendships/relationships, etc. Your voice is crucial as we begin to reflect on our work and look at what we can do better to support our students and families. Ultimately, we know that our kids succeed when families, schools, and communities work together.
Please use the spaces below to share your thoughts on what we are doing well (and should continue doing) and what we need to work on moving forward.
We will review responses on a weekly basis and provide updates and feedback to families in the Community Corner section of the Weekly Newsletter.
