Bluejay PTA September Bulletin

Edgemere Elementary

Big picture

Hello Edgemere Elementary Families,

I wanted to first welcome you all back for another amazing year at Edgemere! My name is Samantha Shkor and I am the incoming PTA President for the 22/23 school year. Your PTA Officers have been busy all summer preparing our calendar of events and fundraisers for the upcoming school year. The goal of Edgemere's PTA is to create a school community that offers our children opportunity and support. The work done by the PTA requires an immense amount of support from our community of families - we can't do it without you!

There are many easy and fun ways to get involved - become a member, volunteer for an event, join a PTA committee, and much more. To keep our family community up to date on PTA activities, we will send out a monthly bulletin with important dates and information. I encourage you to check out this quick read, starting with this September Bulletin. As we start the school year, I encourage you to get involved by joining the PTA or participating in our first PTA meeting of the school year on Monday, September 12th, at 6 p.m. PTA membership forms will be sent out the first weeks of school, along with our calendar of events. Please feel free to connect with us directly at and follow us on Facebook.

I look forward to meeting you soon and thank you for being a part of our amazing Edgemere Elementary school community!

Samantha Shkor

SOAR into the PTA!

Edgemere's PTA is an organization of parents and teachers who have a desire to create a school community that offers our children opportunity and support. We are part of a local and national body which advocates for children. All of the activities that the PTA hosts supports our students and teachers.

The easiest way to get engaged with the PTA is by joining! Dues are $6 for an individual and $10 for families. Additionally, you can join a committee, or volunteer at one of our many events throughout the school year. There is always an opportunity that fits your schedule and availability. You can learn more by joining us a PTA meeting, normally held on the second Monday of each month, or email us at to request a list of volunteer opportunities to see how you may be able to help out!

Membership forms will be sent home with your student in the first few weeks of school. Or, you can join using the attached form and sending it in to school with cash or check. Want to go paperless? Email your form to and Venmo or PayPal your dues - a QR code is included on the membership form. A a reminder, you must renew your PTA membership annually!

We were so excited to meet so many families at this year's sneak-a-peak! Thank you to the 59+ families and staff who joined Edgemere's PTA. We are thrilled to have so many new and returning members join us before school even started. Congratulations to April Green for winning our Back to School Raffle Basket. We look forward to seeing everyone again at Back to School Night on September 13th. Stop by the PTA table to learn more about our upcoming events and volunteer opportunities!

Welcome Back, Teachers!

The PTA was honored to provide a welcome back lunch for our amazing teachers and staff during teacher week. Teachers were busy the week prior to the start of school preparing to open their doors to students. Edgemere's staff were treated to a delicious lunch from Deli-ish and dessert. We heard from so many thankful teachers who shared their appreciation for the PTA. It is our pleasure to support our teachers - WE are THANKFUL for them!
