Third Grade Newsletter

Week 23 : February 1-5, 2016


As you may have seen, yearbook order forms were sent home on Tuesday of this week. The cost this year is $12 a yearbook. There is an online ordering option (Code: 04246V) or you can return the order form to school with cash or check payable to "CSA Lincoln."

You will need to order a yearbook to receive one.

ISTEP/IRead Testing - Save the Date!

Grades 3-6 will be testing for ISTEP and/or IREAD (only 3rd grade) on the following dates. Please try and schedule doctor appointments around these dates. It is very important that your student is here!

Save the Dates: Tuesday, March 1st- Friday, March 11th

Also, if you have time at home, this is a wonderful website for practice on ISTEP and IRead topics and concepts! Let me know if you need anything!

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent / Teacher Conferences will take place the week of February 8th-11th. Teachers will be using the same schedule for siblings that was used first semester. Teachers will be notifying you soon of your conference date and time.

Staff vs. Student Basketball Game

The Staff vs. Student basketball game will be on Wednesday, February 24th (previously noted as Th, 2/25) as the Math Bowl competition is on Thursday, February 25th. The 6th grade will be hosting a Paw Pack (Grades 3-6) as a fundraiser for the Chicago Trip. All students and parents are welcome to attend the basketball game. Stay tuned for more details.

Parent Survey Results

Thank you again to all those who participated in our 1st semester parent survey. Our CIC met this past Wednesday to review the results and came up with two action plans to focus on for this semester.

Note: There are two questions regarding the level of communication with parents and families. The first graph shows responses based at the classroom level and the second graph indicates responses based at the school administration level.

Attendance Challenge

We will have a third quarter perfect attendance competition beginning January 19, 2016- March 11, 2016. Those students with perfect attendance will be eligible to win a Kindle Fire.

At the end of the school year, those students with perfect attendance for the entire school year will be eligible to win a laptop.

Perfect attendance means the student is present 100% of the time- no early dismissals, no late arrivals, and absences for any reason.
