Weekly Reflections
Professionalism
Hello,
I want to start this week with a focus. One thing that we must exhibit is professionalism. I am witnessing and spending time on things lately out of conduct that is purely unprofessional in nature. I want to remind some of you that this is also about your body language, what you say or do, as well as conduct in the work place. I have three P's that I go by and professionalism is one of them. I believe that we should all be professional, poised, and prepared. Please reflect on your practices and ask yourself before you act or say certain things, "am I being professional?" Of course, I want to enjoy work and have a good time, but keep in mind this conduct that is expected at all times.

Announcements
SLOs & Letters of Intent
- I will be scheduling meeting with you about your SLOs. High school, you should begin your beginning of semester data. Middle school we will be conducting your mid-year this week. Thanks
- Please be sure to complete your letter of intent by today. Please come by and sign off with Mrs. Shuler once you have completed it.
Book Study
- Please read Chapter 4 this month! Assignments are forthcoming!
- Group 1 needs to come up with a topic that can be in Teams for our book study and the activity!
Thanks
Instructional Observations- Work your students!
- We are observing not enough intervention being done on the high school hall. This is unacceptable. Intervention is mandatory.
- Middle School is doing a fabulous job of collaborating.
- Too much low level work. Rote memorization will not move our students. Students learn best by doing.
Mrs. Guinyard's Reminders
Duty Schedule-Team 3 Week of January 27-31, 2020
Group 3 Afternoon Bus Duty-Mr. Patrick Clark, Mrs. Kelly-Longmore, Mrs. Carter
Request for Leave Forms-A Request for Leave form must be submitted and approved by administration prior to leaving campus or if there is a scheduled absence.
Fire Drill-Review Fire Drill Procedures with your students. There will be a fire drill towards the end of the week.
Educators Handbook-Teachers, make sure you are documenting minor offenses appropriately in Educator's Handbook and contacting parents. Remember, accurate information must be carefully documented prior to submission.
Hoods and Cell Phones-We are still seeing students with hoods on and using cellphones for non-instructional purposes in the classroom. There is no such thing as free time with the work we have cut out for us. Plan with the purpose of increasing academic success. Active student engagement is key and will cut down on classroom disruption. We will continue to monitor instruction in the classrooms daily.

Faculty Spotlight!
Teachers above and beyond
Ms. Amanda Cary and Mrs. Stephanie Carter, thank you for leaving excellent plans for your students last week in your absence. Students had a step by step routine to access their messages and instructions from their teachers and secure their assignments through their Chromebooks. This made it easier for Mrs. Carter and Ms. Cary's subs to manage their classes.
Thank you to all faculty for managing the flow of students during the absence of the bells and ensuring that order was maintained last week as administration attended meetings. Please continue to monitor students as they move throughout the building.
