Joshua: God Sends Rahab to Protect Spies Joshua 2
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
Some Israelite spies sneak into Jericho, and they go to Rahab’s house. Even though Rahab isn’t an Israelite, she helps the spies hide from the king’s men. She keeps them safe because God works through unlikely people. The Israelites promise to keep her safe.
Family Together Time
- Talk about people God has worked through in your life.
- Make thank-you cards for those people. Be sure to mention specific ways God has touched your life because of those people.
- Pray together, thanking God for those people and asking him to keep working through them.
- Hand-deliver or mail your notes.
Talk About This...What’s one thing you wish God would use you to do?

Camp Sumatanga Info
SPOTS ARE FILLING UP FAST FOR SUMATANGA!
It’s time to think about summer camp at Sumatanga (www.sumtanga.org) for Elementary age students! This year we have selected the week of June 10th for Trussville First to attend. When registering on-line, you now have the ability to make the $50 non-refundable deposit and make payments! No more paying in full when registering on-line. See on-line registration link below.
Rising 1st-3rd graders:
Day Camp is Monday, June 11-Friday, June 15. Cost is $150 per camper. This year we will NOT be taking the big yellow school bus. We will use the two smaller busses to take kids to/from camp each day. This means we will be able to provide transportation for ONLY 26 children. We will take reservations on a first come basis for church families. We will then open up available slots May 1st for others. If your child needs a ride please let me know ASAP. Email beth@fumctrussville.com if your child will need a ride. ONLY A FEW SEATS LEFT!
Rising 3rd-6th graders:
Overnight Elementary Camp 1 is Sunday, June 10-Friday, June 15. Parents will provide transportation for their children to/from camp. Overnight camp cost is based on a Tier structure ($400, $450, or $500). For more information on this structure please go to http://www.sumatanga.org/summer-camp-faqs.html. Please click on How Much Does Summer Camp at Sumatanga Cost? Your camper will receive the same experience no matter which Tier you select.
As in the past, the children’s ministry has budgeted to pay a portion of summer camp for our church family children. The church will pay $50 for day campers and $150 for overnight camp. THE CHURCH WILL PAY SUMATANGA THIS PORTION DIRECTLY. However, you must let me know if you would like to receive this amount towards your campers cost.
