Sustainability
Water
What is Sustainability?
- Sustainability means the ability or capacity of something to be maintained or to sustain itself. It’s about taking what we need to live now, without wasting the potential for people in the future to meet their needs.
Do we Have Enough Water?
Water in reality is infinite, although just 3% of it is drinkable, but of this number, 2% is trapped in glaciers and snowfields. With just 1% of all the world water that can be used, and all this waste happening, the idea of sustainability begins to disappear! That`s why big agency's were built, to try to create solutions to solve that situation we are in.
Necessity of Water
Water is the most important source on earth, although is one of the sources that are more being wasted. As food , water is essential to every human life, being to drink, cook, wash, generate energy(hydroelecticity),irrigation(it's wasting nowadays a lot of water),etc...
Sustainable water management must focus on ensuring all “new” water comes from better use of existing supplies, and from changes in attitudes and water-use habits.
