Around Campus

Fire Safety Week

Special thanks to the Midlothian Fire Department for spending the day with our learners!

Other Special Visitors on Campus!

Our 1st Pops on Patrol greeted students this week with hand-shakes, high-fives, and smiles! On Friday, the MHS cheerleaders and Mascot Sue joined us as well. Thanks for serving our students so well!

Interested in being a POP?

Do you know someone looking for a volunteer opportunity that minimizes time commitments with maximum impact? We are looking for dads, grandpas, brothers, uncles, or other adult male figures to volunteer to greet students as they arrive to campus each Monday and Friday morning from 7:15 - 8:00 am. Please contact Megan Fulbright to get signed up! Send an email to and include your name, phone number, and email address where we can contact the future POP.

Genius Hour

What is Genius Hour?

Genius Hour is a time for students to explore their passions through clubs each Friday morning. We offer various multi-age club choices such as: sewing, fitness, dance/cheer, cooking, gardening, crafts, MakerSpace, games, etc. A full list of club offerings will be sent out next week. This year, we are going to run clubs in 4 week cycles (3 weeks for clubs and 1 week to share our learning with our peers).

Would you like to share your genius with us? We would LOVE to have you! Ideas that we have include: yoga instructors, culinary experts, cake decorators, entrepreneurs, wood workers, crocheting, etc. The sky is the limit. What would volunteering entail? Volunteers would need to commit to serving our learners for 3 weeks (one hour each week - Fridays from 7:55 - 8:55 am). We like for these clubs to be interactive, so a project for our learners to complete would be ideal. You can sign up for one Genius Hour Cycle or all of them! Contact to volunteer or for more information.

3 - 1:15 - 2:15

1 / 2 / 4 - 2:00 - 3:00

Costumes are allowed. However, we ask that you follow the following criteria for costume selection:

  • Costumes need to be in MISD dress code - If you have a question, please ask a teacher or administrator.
  • No masks covering the face.
  • Nothing scary.
  • No face paint - It can make a mess as the day progresses.
  • No accessory weapons (swords, ninja sticks, etc.)

A reservation form will be sent home by October 20.

Important to note: Students are only allowed to attend their own classroom party. If a child leaves after a party and returns later in the day for a sibling's party, we will check the child back in to school and send the child to his/her regular class. Siblings cannot attend the party in another grade level. Please help us with this. :)
