Back to School Newsletter
Bennett Students and Parents,
Welcome back to school! I hope you all had a fun-filled summer and are ready for school to start. We are all very excited for your arrival!
Back to School Night is Tuesday, August 20 from 5:30-7pm. Please come see your new classroom and meet your teacher. You may drop off your school supplies at this time if you so choose.
All Fargo Public Schools parents will complete their children’s annual registration forms and make fee payments online. Access to these online forms and fee payments will be through the Fargo Schools PowerSchool site.
In addition to online registration forms, PowerSchool gives parents access to their child’s attendance records and lunch account balance. Please visit www.fargo.k12.nd.us and click on the PowerSchool icon to complete registration.
If you need assistance updating your child’s registration packet, you may call the school office at 701-446-4000 or come into the school office where we have a computer station set up for us to help you through this process.
School Fees can be paid by credit card online in your PowerSchool account or by stopping by the school office on Back to School night to complete a fee sheet and pay by cash or check made out to Bennett School.
The first day of school is Thursday, August 22. Classes begin at 8:20am and are dismissed at 2:42pm.
Enjoy your last few days of summer! Please feel free to call the school office if you have any questions.
PARKING LOT SAFETY
Students who are being dropped off/picked up should be driven through the southernmost car loop. The northern loop is reserved for buses. Please pull as far forward as possible in a single line and release your child to the curb from the right side of your vehicle. For safety reasons, please only release your student along the curb. Students shouldn’t cross traffic. Please remain in your vehicle so you are not blocking traffic. If you are going to walk your child into the building, please park in the southernmost parking lot and walk your child across the drop off/pick up loop. Once inside the building, sign in in the office and get a visitor's badge.

Breakfast is available each day. The cost for breakfast is $1.45 and will be taken out of the students account. Students that are on free and reduced lunch programs are also able to receive breakfast for free or reduced prices.
Breakfast is served from 7:45 to 8:10AM. If you are wanting your child to eat breakfast at school, please make sure they are there on time. The hot breakfast will not be served to students after 8:10AM. Bus students should come to the lunch room immediately after getting off the bus and we will serve them breakfast.
Help your child get off to a great start by having breakfast at school. Thank you!
Please help us with our daily attendance by calling the school if your child is absent. By calling the school we are able to insure that your child is safe and accounted for each day.
Please call the office ( 446-4000) or email Robyn Thorvilson at email@example.com.
If your child arrives at school after the bell rings at 8:20AM, they will need to stop at the office to get a tardy slip before going to the classroom.
