8th Grade IGP Meetings in January
The IGPs, Individual Graduation Plans, for current 8th grade students are going on this month. 8th graders and their parents will meet with either Ms. Doolittle or Dr. Chamblee to learn about course options and sign up for high school classes. Use the link below to access Ms. Doolittle's IGP website for course catalogs and career path information. Then use the calendar links below to make an appointment with either Ms. Doolittle or Dr. Chamblee. Parents will join the meeting via video conference using Google Meet. YCI Thursday Mornings
Games Club News
Games Club has had a lot of participation, but the limited number of games and passes creates issues. If you have been to Games Club at least 2 times, you are welcome to take a pass. Teachers will receive a list of students. If you have never tried Games Club and would like to, stop by the media center and talk to Mrs. Spencer.

Archery Team
Congratulations to all of the students who made the Archery Team. The Archery Team will practice Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 pm in the gym. The Archery Team's upcoming competition is Saturday, February 12 at the Civic Center. Each ticket is $5 to watch and $10 to participate. Coach says that this will be the first year that several sixth graders made the Archery Team!
Spring Sports
Masks Must Be Worn on Buses
Effective Monday, August 30th, face masks will be required on all school buses. If your child rides a school bus, please provide a mask for him or her to wear on the school bus. This new update and mandate was communicated to school districts by the South Carolina Department of Education on Thursday, August 26th. Superintendent Wilson communicated this change to all principals asking for notification be sent to all parents and students. If you have questions regarding this mandate, please contact Dr. Jerome Hudson at the Anderson School District Five District Office. The phone number is 864-260-5000.

Early Dismissal / Appointment Policies
- When you arrive at school, please call the office: 864-260-5205 to let us know you are here to pick up a student for dismissal.
- Make sure to have your license ready and press the buzzer for entrance.
- Once the door is unlocked, be prepared to show your license through the window while you will remain in the foyer. Please DO NOT enter the office area.
- We will have a sign-out sheet in the foyer. Please know that we will get your student to you as quickly as we can.

News from Nurse Rosa
1. Take the temperature of any child demonstrating shortness of breath, loss of taste, sore throat, muscle aches, chills, new or worsening cough, or runny nose.
2. Keep the child at home one or more days to monitor symptoms.
3. If you decide to have a COVID-19 test, notify the school nurse of the results so that the school can implement the Enhanced Health and Safety Protocols in the classroom(s) where your child attended.
*All information will remain confidential between the school and family. No other families will be given the health information of your child.
