A Message from Principal Bame

Dear Laurel Park Families,


Happy (almost) April to all of our Penguin Families!


We are entering the spring planning portion of our school year. You can expect to receive updates along the way, as we navigate the "clopening" portion of the year. Year round staff refer to the 4th quarter as "clopening" because we are closing out one year and opening another at the same time. It is a heavy lift, but we have an amazing staff working together!


Please make sure to review the April calendar thoroughly, as there are several days marked as workdays or holidays. We noted the dates below for your information.

Front Office Reminders to Families


Clothing Reminders:
  • With warm weather upon us, please make sure to send students to school in layers.
  • We appreciate all families (K-5) sending extra clothes in case of an accident during the day.


Dismissal Reminders:
  • Parents/ caregivers should be prepared to show identification when picking up their child.
  • Students must be present until 12:30 pm to be counted as present for the day.
  • Early dismissals end by 3:!5 pm.
  • Dismissal begins at 3:45 for carpoolers. Please pick your child up on time. We have many students not being picked up until 4:30.

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT WITH SILENT AUCTION & RAFFLES


Mark your calendars for our annual Family Movie Night with Silent Auction & Raffles

May 19, 2023 - Time and details to be advised. As with all school events our PTA requires your assistance leading up to this event and on the day of the event. Please view this sign up for opportunities.


We are looking for donations and sponsors. If you have ties to a business or individual that would like to participate in our silent auction or raffle prizes please reach out to us - lpesptafundraising@gmail.com


Each grade level will have a basket theme and families will have the opportunity to contribute to those too. Keep an eye out for these signups coming out in April.

Positivity Project Resource for Families

P2 for Families is an easy and effective way for families to discuss the importance of character strengths and positive relationships. It is differentiated for grades Pre-K – 2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Each character strength follows a 1-1-3 model: 1 quote, 1 video, and 3 questions to drive conversations around character at home.
