đź’™A PORTRAIT OF MR. FOECKLER WEARING A MASK AT HIS DESKđź’™
Dear PV Families,
As I see students engaged in learning through our first full month of school with the challenges we have encountered, I am amazed at the resilience of our students, staff, and parents. Whenever we encounter a new challenge, we have an opportunity to learn and grow from it. When we are in the moment and living through a difficult situation whether it be learning virtually, learning through a mask, or learning a new academic strategy, it takes perseverance to keep moving forward. At times it can be difficult to see that we are not running a sprint, but instead we are running a marathon where growth happens over time.
As I travel from classroom to classroom across our school, I continue to see our learners grow stronger connections with their peers through our community circles and social emotional learning lessons. I also see our learners growing stronger academic muscles daily as they set goals and strive to show their learning. It is so rewarding to have conversations with students who are so excited about learning and sharing it with others!
As I see our construction workers engage in building our new office structure and the time that it takes for the workers to build a solid foundation, I am reminded of the conditions that we create to help all students form a solid foundation that will benefit them far into the future beyond the walls of our school. I just want to say thank you to our amazing staff and parents who work to help our students set a solid social, emotional, and academic foundation.
On a side note, I would like to share that our new office construction is going very well and the completion date is ahead of schedule! We are hoping to be able to be in our new office at the start of December! A big thank you goes out to the amazing construction crew from JP Cullen and their project manager, Jason Addy.
Have a great week!

We will be holding a Food Drive from Monday, October 19th through Friday, October 23rd at Pleasant View for the food pantry at Faith Presbyterian Church in Franklin. Their food cupboard has been very busy during this pandemic. Faith Presbyterian feeds approximately 100 patrons each month and the need for assistance is clearly there. They’ve also increased the number of days the food pantry is open each month to help the community CLICK HERE to view a short video about the drive. CLICK HERE to view a list of suggested items.

PLEASE WASH & ROTATE MASKS
Our students and staff are doing a great job wearing their masks each day! As we get into normal routines during the school year, one routine we would like to highly encourage is mask washing. We are seeing some students coming to school with masks that have not been washed in a few days. Please consider having your student rotate masks throughout the week and start each day with a clean, fresh mask. Mask effectiveness is best with a clean, dry mask each day.

GUARDIAN GOOGLE CLASSROOM EMAIL SUMMARY
There is some confusion about the Parent/Guardian Google Classroom email summary. When a teacher adds a Parent/Guardian email addresses to Google Classroom, this does not give the parent access to Google Classroom. The email address being added registers the parent/guardian to receive a weekly email summary that looks like the image below. The parent/guardian will get one summary per child for all Google Classrooms the child is connected to. If you want to see the Google Classroom assignments or postings in real time, please have your child log in so you can view the Classroom with him/her.
You can read more about the Parent/Guardian summary you receive on this Google Classroom support page here.
This is what the summary email looks like:
5K-5TH GRADE PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
We will be having Virtual 5K-5th Grade Parent/Teacher Conferences via Google Meet on Thursday, October 15th and Tuesday, October 20th from 4:30-8:00 pm respectively. We look forward to having you sign up for a 15-minute time slot on one of the above dates. Your student(s) teacher will then send you an email invite for your conference. Please remember that the best communication with parents is communication at the “right time” for the “right reason.” By combining traditional methods of communication with the use of technology, parents can be more up-to-date than ever regarding their child’s progress in school. Parents are encouraged to utilize all methods of communication available to be informed and active partners in their child’s educational experience.
If you have multiple children in the school, we recommend that you complete this process early for the best chance at grouping your conference times together.
We request that parents who live in separate households schedule just one conference with each child’s teacher. By attending the conference together, we are able to share the same information with both parents at the same time. If this will not be possible for your family, please contact Mr. Foeckler at 414-423-4650.
Please sign up for a virtual time slot from the dates that are provided. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your child’s teacher.
