A SUPER Teacher Appreciation Week
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Students, parents, our Sherwood PTA and I are all working collaboratively to ensure that you are showered with the appreciation that you deserve for being the SUPERHEROS of our school. Snacks will be provided on Wednesday and a delightful lunch will be provided on Friday. Dress comfortably this week in your jeans each day (the perfect superhero teacher costume) and feel free to consider every day “A beautiful day in the Ozark’s” and leave as soon as your students are gone. Enjoy the additional gift of time! Thank you for your commitment to Sherwood and our students!

Newbies to Team Sherwood
Lori Everett SPED
Hello, my name is Lori Everett. I am excited to join Team Sherwood for the 2016-2017 school year, as a Special Education Teacher. I am a Springfield native. I previously taught in a functional skills classroom at Holland Elementary; but teaching is a second career for me. I am retired from law enforcement. My very favorite thing in life is swimming. I look forward to meeting everyone. I was asked to submit a photo. I did not have one readily available, but here is a photo of my dog Jenny. I have lots of these, if you want to see more J.
Elizabeth Weaver 1st grade
I have been a first grade teacher for the past 10 years and love first graders! I enjoy teaching firsties how to read and write. I am looking forward to this new adventure at Sherwood. I am excited to merge my knowledge of reader's and writer's workshop with PBL and technology. Throughout my tenure with SPS, I have participated in the Literacy Leader Initiative both as a participant and as a facilitator. This past year I was a part of the Master Learner's Institute. I have two beautiful daughters. My oldest daughter, Ellie, graduated from college a year ago and is a graphic designer in Texas. My youngest daughter, Natalie, graduates from Kickapoo soon and will attend college to play softball in Texas also. My husband, Brian and I have been married for 25 years this year. I enjoy cooking, reading, and shopping (I have a weakness for shoes!) I can't wait to become a part of the Sherwood Team.
Katie Beagley 1st grade
Hi, I’m Katie Beagley, I will be joining team Sherwood for the upcoming school year. I am very excited to meet all of you and work with you over the course of the next year. The upcoming school year will be my fourth year teaching, I have been the 5th grade Math and Science Teacher in Pleasant Hope for the past three years. I truly enjoy being a teacher and working with my students, I have had the privilege of working with a lot of really great kids while at Pleasant Hope. I have been married for five years to my husband Joah, we met in college at Northwest Missouri State. We have a two year old son named Luke, who we love dearly.
Allie Rodgers 4th Grade
My name is Allie Rodgers. I am currently in my third year of teaching at Wilder Elementary. I started out my teaching career in kindergarten and then moved to fourth grade. I have been teaching fourth grade for the last two years. I will be starting my master’s degree this summer at MIZZOU for educational technology. When I’m not working I love hanging out with my husband, Jeff, our 8 month old daughter, Fallon, and our dogs Tobi, and Britta. On the rare occasion that Fallon sleeps I enjoy binge watching Netflix. Also, I worked at IPA for 5 years, so if I look familiar that’s probably why.
