MMS Family
We had a great week with STAAR testing. Students did a GREAT job of coming to school this week. On Tuesday, our attendance was 99% and Wednesday our attendance was 95%. Let's keep that going this week!
Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep and plenty of rest the night before testing. Parents will not be able to bring lunch for their child on days of testing. We will have all students eat in the classrooms. Students will not be allowed to go to the front office to get food. Due to testing, we will have sack lunches.
We had a great time at our Tiger Club field trip. Students had fun bowling and spending time at Gattitown! This week our 6th and 7th grade students are going on a field trip. Please make sure all permission slips and money has been turned in.

Need assistance?
Hi all – HaysCo has an emergency rental assistance program for those impacted by COVID. The program aims to prevent people from being evicted by paying back rent, though it also helps with back due (and I think currently owed) utilities. I invite you to learn more about the ERA program on our website: https://hayscountytx.com/emergency-rental-assistance-program/

All incoming 7th graders (current 6th graders) are required to receive a Tdap and meningococcal (MCV) vaccine to attend school. Exemption from immunization requirements are allowable on an individual basis for medical contraindications, active duty with the armed forces of the United States, and reasons of conscience, including a religious belief. If your student has already seen their provider and received their required immunizations, we would appreciate receiving back the results of the visit.

Gifted & Talented Information

Please watch the video below to show you how to create a parent account on our HERO program. This program tracks positive and negative behaviors. The first video shows how to create an account. I tried to create a second video but was having technical difficulties. I will try to upload a video at a different time.

Please review the following items below.
Wind shorts Wind shorts of any kind are not allowed. When students sit down the shorts ride up their thighs and this becomes a distraction. | Rips in jeansRips in jeans are allowed. We asked that any skin showing above the knees to be covered up. | Crop Tops Many of our students are starting to wear short shirts where their stomach is exposed. We tell our students before they come to school to raise their hand at home. If their stomach is exposed than their shirt is too short. Also, low cut shirts where cleavage is exposed is not allowed. |

Student drop off/pick up
In the morning, please drive all the way up the hill as far as you can. Please do not drop off in the "Red Zone" where it says no parking. Also, we are locking the back doors at 8:05. If your child arrives to school after 8:00, please drop off in the front of the building.
In the afternoon we want to fit as many cars in as possible. I will stop traffic to let the buses go ahead of everyone. We are trying to get the buses loaded as soon as possible so they can get on their routes. I appreciate your understanding with this.
As you know the line at parent pick up is extremely long. We are doing the best we can and I appreciate everyone’s patience. The line will get faster. The following items are some things your child can do to make the line go faster:
- Make sure your child is looking for you
- Try not to get out of your car for your child to put things in trunk
- Drive all the way up the loop until you cannot drive up anymore
