Note from the Principal (Mr. Semmler)
What a great week!
Dear DLJHCharger Families,
I want to share and reflect on last week. Not only did we have a great week with discipline, but we had a great week with our academics, and our athletics programs. If you have any photos to share of our Academic UIL event, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Winners, Basketball championships, etc. share those with me directly by sending me an e-mail. We will work hard to put this information in future newsletters.
All of the successes that are happening at Leaman are a reflection on the hard work of our teachers/coaches/students and would not happen without the support of our families!
Sincerely,
Michael Semmler
Principal of Leaman Junior School

School Board Recognition Month
Lamar CISD Communications
January 2, 2024 – Rosenberg, Texas – The month of January has been declared as School Board Recognition Month by Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).
Our District is proud to celebrate the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees this month, and every day. This year’s theme is “locally elected, community connected,” which highlights the bond among our Trustees, families, staff, and partners in education.
“Only two people do this [education] for free – our students and our Trustees,” Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens’ said. “I’d like to thank every Trustee for the countless hours and important decisions they make – all with the best interest of our students in mind.”
Lamar CISD currently serves more than 44,600 students and continues to grow. All seven Board members are volunteers from our community who help the District make decisions that ensure student access to a superior education through inspired leadership. Our Trustees include:
Mandi Bronsell President, District 3
Zach Lambert Vice President, District 1
Kay Danziger Secretary, District 2
Suzanne Box Member, District 7
Jacci Hotzel Member, District 4

Academic UIL Success for Leaman
Thanks to all of the students and teachers who worked so hard this past Saturday at Academic UIL held at Briscoe Junior High. Both the 7th and 8th grade came in 2nd out of 6 Junior High Schools and Roberts Middle School came in 1st place out of the 6 Middle Schools.
Once again this just proves to our community how wonderful our students are, how talented they are, and when situations are created by teachers for them to succeed, they step up to the challenge and prove that the future is bright in Fulshear, TX.
