Thomas Edison 1847-1931

Thomas was born in Millan, Ohio. He patented 1,093 inventions in his lifetime. Some are, the kinetoscope , phonograph, and his most famous the incandescent light bulb. All of this earned him the nickname "The Wizard of Melno Park".

The Incandescent Light Bulb

In 1879, after 1,200 experiments Thomas made a light bulb using carbonized filaments from cotton that only burned for two days. The first light bulb was installed inside a steamship and then later in a New York factory.

Types of light bulbs

Now a days people have created light bulbs to conserve power which we know as a fluorescent light bulb. Also , instead of using the plain original yellow light people have created light bulbs that come in all sorts of colors on the rainbow.
