Description: Use Office 365 for instruction, collaboration, assignments, communication, and more. This session will give you best practices for utilizing Office 365’s collaborative features and help you to integrate them to increase the effectiveness of PLCs as well as classroom instruction. OneDrive provides users with (25GB) of cloud based storage so there is no more need of CDs or thumb drives. This is an exciting free tool that can greatly enhance your classroom experiences. During this session you will learn tips to promote a respectful online culture, privacy and security measures for user safety and rules for online discussion.

Introduction to QR Codes to Increase Student Motivation (Part I)

Description: If you are curious about what these are or how they can be used to peak student interest, come to this session. Participants will learn how to use QR Codes for quick access to online resources, to organize their content, and develop inquiry-based learning activities in a fast and easy way. QR codes can be read from a computer with a web camera or any mobile devices.

Materials included on the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) Network, The LearningExpress Library, will allow students and parents to access materials from anywhere with an internet connection. Come and set up a user account and get started. You will even find materials to use to help introduce or enrich an assignment in your classroom. The system provides over 300 online interactive practice exams and course series as well as over 150 e-books. Now included – World Book Encyclopedia!

Introduction to Writing

This is a 2-part session to help ELA teachers get ready for the Writing Assessment in February.
Title: Introduction to Writing with Technology - Team Academic Feedback (Part 1)
Descriptor: Looking for ways to improve writing assessment scores but you don’t know how? Are you comfortable with teaching writing but need some new resources? Do you want to make sure that your students are successful with writing online by providing good oral and written feedback? If so, come to the Writing with Technology in-service. This session will provide you with ideas and resources to help prepare students for writing online across the curriculum.
Sample Programs Include: Word Pad, Note Pad, Edmodo, Moodle, Microtype, Student Turn-in Folder, Odyssey Writer (middle and high school only), MIST, etc.
This session is appropriate for middle and secondary to prepare for the on-line writing assessment in February. This session is a pre-requisite to this optional hour extension Applied Writing with Technology (Part 2)

Title: Applied Writing with Technology - Team Academic Feedback (Part 2)
Description: Examine writing resources from Part 1 further and apply them to your classroom. Add students, setup your classroom, make assignments, create an activity or lesson plan, create/upload a writing prompt, or create a grading rubric with some of your favorites in part one. This hands on part 2 workshop allows teachers to dig deeper into a resource learned during part 1 - Word Pad, Note Pad, Edmodo, Moodle, Microtype, Student Turn-in Folder, Odyssey Writer (middle and high school only), MIST, etc.
This session is appropriate for middle and secondary to aid in preparing for on-line writing assessment in February. * This is a pre-requisite to the optional
extra hour extension- Applying the skills and exploring websites to enhance writing.
