Google's New Storage Limits
GOOGLE is Eliminating Unlimited Free Storage!
Recently, Google changed their file storage policy, eliminating unlimited free storage for its Workspace for Education offering (formerly known as G-Suite for Education). This requires New York Tech to make significant changes to the Google services we offer.
Effective January 1, 2023 New York Tech's default quota will be 100 TB (terabytes), significantly below the 500 TB (terabytes) we currently use. While exact storage limits have not yet been determined, it is important to begin getting into the mindset that storage limitations are not unlimited and we need to be conscious of the type of data and amount of storage we are consuming. This is going to be a cultural shift for our university and we need to start preparing now for a smoother transition.
What Can I Do To Prepare? π€
We strongly urge you to review your personal storage in the Google Workspace as soon as possible. Please remember your file storage at New York Tech is limited to your work and Academic purposes only.
