Awards Day - May 20
Mark your calendars for our annual Awards Day to be held on Friday, May 20 in the wood gym beginning at 8:00 A.M.
- The students must wear their school uniforms to school on this day including uniform shoes and white socks - no "Goodie Two Shoes".
- Students in grades 1-4 should report directly to and meet their teachers in the wood gym where they will be given assigned seats with their classmates. They should NOT sit with parents as they are allowed to do during weekly chapel services.
- Following the ceremony, students will begin checking into After Care at 9:45 A.M. if they are not picked up by a parent in the wood gym.
In an effort to honor all of our students who have worked hard all year as well as due to the sensitively of the information enclosed in the folders, the end of the year folders will only be issued to parents/guardians AFTER each ceremony. The teachers have been instructed to not give the folders to parents who need to leave early nor will they issue the folders to other parents with whom students are checking out for the day.
Due to cost of postage, folders that are not given out by the teachers to parents at the conclusion of each ceremony will need to be picked up in the Lower School office at your convenience throughout the summer, Tuesdays – Thursdays from 9:00-3:00.
NEEDED: Parent Volunteer Pizza Day Coordinator for 2016-2017
We are looking for one or two NCS parents to coordinate our monthly Pizza Days, September - May. Sadly, without coordinators, the Pizza Days will be discontinued.
If you would like more information on what this positions entails, please directly contact Mrs. Lee Manguno: lmanguno@northlakechristian.org.
ACT Aspire Test Resutls
The results from the 3rd and 4th grade ACT Aspire testing will not be available to us from the company until August or September. Please expect the test results along with detailed explanations of the scores to help you with interpreting the scores to be mailed to your home once they have arrived.
Box Tops = Teachers' Retreat
Did you know that for the past five years each July that our Lower School teachers have attended an out-of-town retreat in preparation for each new school year?
During that time, they are given the opportunity to bond with one another and just relax as they get away from the hustle and bustle of their summer family obligations as well as getting their classrooms and lesson plans ready for their new students. But, and most importantly, they are introduced to and learn about the upcoming spiritual theme for the new school year equipping them to reach their students at a whole new level during the monthly studies of the themes throughout the school year. In years past, these themes have included the Fruit of the Spirit, the Armor of God, and the Names of God just to name a few.
Many people do not know that the way in which this retreat is budgeted and provided is through the proceeds earned from the collection of Box Tops. So, we ask for you to carefully consider visiting the Participating Box Tops Products page and selecting some of these products the next time you are at the grocery store.
Additionally, if you would like to make a monetary donation to be allocated to the annual Lower School Teaches' Retreat or for the purchase of the teachers' T-shirt, that support the annual theme that they wear periodically through the school year , please email Ms. Arnold: marnold@northlakechristian.org.
Lost & Found
On the first of every month, items left in the Lost & Found are donated to the Used Uniform closet (all proceeds are allocated to the Fine Arts Department) and/or Goodwill. The Lost & Found table is located in the Lower School hallway.
ANYTHING LEFT AFTER MAY 20 WILL BE DISCARDED.
