Comanche's "This Week"
Week of October 13th
Couple of things
- Please make sure you review the email from Dr. Strike about Monday. Make sure you are on time, dress professionally, and represent our school well. I am so excited for you to have the opportunity to hear from the ICLE experts to have a clearer understanding on Rigor!
- October 14th: I am working on our agenda for the 14th. Please be in the library by 7:45. We have a busy day! Our hours will be 7:45-3:30. Casual dress for this day:)
-I am LOVING seeing all the post on your class face book pages. As a mom you love seeing what goes on in your child's classroom. I am noticing A LOT more in depth posts around specific learning that is taking place. Keep it up!
- Change in book study: I am ordering books for us as a staff. I am hoping to have these in over the next couple of weeks. (more information to come)
l think it is important for us to continuously grow as a staff. As we hire new staff members they will be asked to read this book as well.
- Expectations for CS teachers:
- LOVE what you do and do what you LOVE! EVERYTHING we do is centered around what is in the best interest for our students.
- DO what it takes attitude! Nothing about our jobs is easy. What we did last year won't work for the group of kids this year. Why would it....it is a new set of students and all brains don't "think" the same.
- CONTINUOUSLY Grow: As educators we must keep up on best practices by reading and implementing new ideas.
- CONTAGIOUS Attitude: As a staff we are a family and must love each other and respect our differences. We learn from one another through our PLCS and learning walks.
- HOLD each other accountable for ensuring student success! Change only happens within the classrooms. Our students deserve and will get the best education at Comanche.

Cycle of an effective PLC
1) What do I want my students to know and be able to do?
2) How will I know if they have learned it?
3) What will I do if they don't learn it?
4) What will I do if they already know it?
