Mr.Luevano's Fantanstic 5th Graders
Try to be the very best like no one ever was!
What's in store for your child this week? Im glad you asked.
This week has many activities and events in store for our wonderful and dedicated students. Your child will be learning about the ways living and non living organisms interact in an ecosystem to survive in Science. They will also be introduced to algebra in Math, and In Language Arts the students will be given a list of books that you as a family will be able to choose from. The book with the most votes will be the book that your children will read for their next assignment. I know this seems like a lot, but as the year comes to an end we have to finish strong and work together!
Sport of the Week: Soccer
As suggested earlier on the year at our parent teacher assembly, we have set up a system in which each week we hold a mini workshop during recess, to introduce a new sport to our students. This is the second week this new system has been in effect and has received positive feedback from you ( Parents) and the students. We hope to continue exposing our students to new sports for years to come!
Hooray we have a Field Trip!
The Houston Museum of Naural Science
This Friday we will be taking a trip to the Museum of Natural Science to further incorporate and reinforce the different ways that living and nonliving organisms interact with each other. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the cost of the trip is $8 dollars which includes the admission and lunch. I hope everyone is able to go and is ready to learn.

Buzz Buzz..... It's Spelling Bee time again!
It's that time of year again where your child has the opportunity to participate in our schools spelling bee. Like before your child will have to compete against the entire fifth grade community to advance. A permission form has been given to your child if they would like to participate. This is not obligatory, but I encourage you to convince your child to participate as it will improve and test their spelling skills.
