September Happenings and Updates

I would like to thank all of our students, families, and staff for such an amazing start to the school year! The energy, excitement, and smiles that the students have brought to Orion Oaks over these first few weeks have helped to make this one of the best starts that we have ever had. I am excited for the success and memories that the upcoming school year will bring. Thank you for your continued communication, feedback, and support as we work together to provide the best educational experience for your students.

United as Dragons.

Lake Orion Optimist Club Fundraiser

The Lake Orion Optimist Club is a community organization that partners with Lake Orion Schools to recognize students who go above and beyond to make a difference in their school and community. The Optimist Club recognizes a "Student of the Month" throughout the school year at each school as well as recognizes fourth graders from each elementary school in April at their annual 4th Grade Recognition Ceremony. The Optimist Club is able to support these endeavors in school through fundraising and partnerships throughout the community. Please see the attached flyer with details about the Optimist Club's upcoming fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Family Letters of Encouragement to Students

We are so fortunate to have such a strong and supportive school community. This year we would like to build upon the encouragement that we provide to our students by asking families to write a note to their student(s). Please use the attached letter template to jot a note that can be returned to the "Just a Note to Say Hi" letter box in the main office. Mr. Towlerton and the office staff will deliver these notes to your students throughout the year as a continued form of encouragement and positivity for our kids. When returning letters, please include your child's grade and teacher so that we make sure letters are delivered to the correct classroom.
