Heights Happenings
Eastern Heights Elementary School, December 2021
Dear Eastern Heights Elementary Family,
As we conclude 2021, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, students, and parents for their continued support, and express our heartfelt gratitude to all who help make Eastern Heights an amazing place to be.
Just a few reminders:
- Please make sure that your student is remembering to bring a clean mask with them each day, it is a good idea to give them a backup in their book bag too.
- Please encourage your student to exemplify the "3 Bees"- ask your student about this, they will be happy to tell you all about them!
- Thank you for helping us keep drop off and arrival running smoothly, we appreciate you! We understand that this takes time, and you will see more important reminders below.
In the spirit of the season we hope you take this opportunity to spend some much deserved quality time with your family as you reflect on all that you and your child have accomplished this year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time.
Your Partner in Education,
Mrs. Barwacz

Update from Mrs. Roth, our Book Fair Coordinator
The first book fair for Eastern Heights Elementary was very successful! Thank you to all of the parent volunteers for volunteering to come and work at the fair. I could not have done it without your help. We had a total of $10,596.72 in sales and earned $5298.31 in profit dollars for the school. WOW!! We are planning a BOGO book fair for May 31-June 3, 2022 - more information will come in the new year!
Thank you again for all of your help and support!
Happy reading!
Arrival
If students arrive after 9:10, they will be marked tardy.
Dismissal
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR CAR TAG EASILY VISIBLE IN YOUR CAR DURING DISMISSAL.
Any parent/guardian picking up a student in the car rider line will need to make sure that their car rider tag is visible in the car. Please note that the purpose for this car rider tag is to ensure a safe and smooth dismissal at Eastern Heights Elementary.
A few reminders:
- Please make sure you are pulling all the way forward
- Please stay in your car. If you do need to get out of your car to help your child, please park on a side street and walk up.
- Please have your child load and unload on the curbside of the school (passenger side of car) for your child's safety
- No dogs are permitted on the campus at dismissal.
Covid-19 Safety - MASKS
Please make sure that your student is remembering to bring a clean mask with them each day, it is a good idea to give them a backup in their book bag too.
No. 1: COVID-19 safety precautions will remain a priority in our daily happenings.
Custodians and maintenance staff will place utmost emphasis on sanitization of school buildings, adhering to the cleaning guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Masks must be worn by students in preschool through sixth grade until further notice.
Visitors to our buildings are required to wear masks.
A critical reminder: Students and staff should not come to school if they are showing ANY signs of illness, such as headache or fever, cough, sneezing, shortness of breath, stomachache, etc.
This cannot be overemphasized: Please do not come to school if you are feeling ill.
The CDC provides excellent guidance on symptoms of illness and symptoms of COVID-19.
