UHMS - Parent Newsletter
February 2020 Edition
The month of Love and African American History!
Hello Phoenix Families -
We hope that you and your families are doing well as we begin the month of February. This month is known for love but most importantly a time that we reflect on the history of the African American Culture. As you go through the week, we ask that you and your family take some time to share what you love about each other.
The countdown is real, there is only 3 months left of schoo!. There are several events and programs taking place now until the end of the year, so be sure to read and listen to the Parent Links and Newsletters being sent out.

FAMILY TIME TIPS!
An evening of No Social Media/Technology: Pick a day out of the week to have an evening free of social media and/or technology. Take this time to reconnect over a home cooked meal, take out, or pizza. Discuss what's going currently in each member of the household's life or create family goals that can be tracked weekly.
Puzzles, Brain Teasers, and More!
Pull out a large puzzle or print out some brain teasers to work through together as a family. This will build better communication and problem solving skills with everyone!
Vision Board
Gather up some old magazines or newspapers to create Vision Boards for each member of the family. This fun activity allows each member of the family to not only showcase their goals but creativity.

Need to Meet With Administration?
Uplift Hampton Middle School is always delighted to speak and meet with parents. While we make every opportunity to meet with parents, please note that arriving to school to meet with Admin without an appointment may result in a scheduling of an appointment for a different time or day. To ensure timely responsiveness please adhere by the following suggestions:
1. Call Ahead and Schedule an Appointment – By calling ahead, it ensures that parents are able to meet with Admin in a timely matter while respecting your valuable time. At various times throughout the day Admin are in meetings, in classrooms supporting teachers or even off campus for meetings. Without an appointment, it can be difficult to meet with parents right away.
2. Email – All emails addresses can be found on our Uplift Website as well as at the bottom of every newsletter. Emailing can possibly save time by eliminating phone tag especially if a call back may occur during difficult to answer situations such as work hours. All emails will be responded to within 48 business hours.
We thrilled with your outstanding engagement in your child’s education and we thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
