Lockport City School District
March 15, 2020
Dear Colleagues and Families of the Lockport City School District,
As you may know, Niagara County has issued a state of emergency and the Niagara County Health Department has recommended all schools, Pre-Kindergarten through grade12, close for students, effective Monday, March 16 and until further notice. As a result, all schools in the Lockport City School District will be closed for students beginning Monday, March 16, and until further notice. During this time, there will be no extra-curricular activities or community events. The district will reassess the closing of school on a weekly basis.
All staff should report to work on Monday, March 16 to their regularly assigned building, and only on an as needed basis after Monday. Beginning Tuesday, March 17, the District will be sending out detailed information to families related to an alternative instruction plan for students, a meal distribution plan, and a medication return plan.
All staff members, students, and parents are encouraged to check their email accounts, the district website, and the district social media for further communications while school is closed.
Now more than ever, it is time to be LION STRONG. Thank you for your cooperation with and your support of the Lockport City School District as we manage through this very unusual time in our lives.
