Claxton's 3rd Annual Bee Day - Tuesday, April 24th
Claxton is gearing up for its 3rd annual celebration of Bee Day which will be tomorrow Tuesday April 24th. It promises to be a fun and learning-filled day! All students will visit the media center to interact with bee-related Makey-Makey circuit board projects, learn from our 5th grade science students as they present the findings of their research on pollinators, enjoy the unveiling of Claxton’s newly-beautified beehive garden, enjoy kindergarten bee-themed poetry performances, and meet beekeepers from Buncombe County Beekeepers Association. Special thanks to Home Depot for generously donating supplies for our garden beautification project!
**All students and staff are invited to come to school dressed in their best black and yellow to celebrate our honeybee friends.
*****Students will be invited to sample honey brought in by our beekeepers. Please let your child’s teacher know if you do not want your child to taste any honey.

Volunteers Needed to Serve as EOG Proctors
Claxton needs volunteers to proctor the North Carolina "End of Grade" (or EOG) tests. Test dates are May 30, May 31, and June 1. We would love for you to volunteer ALL or SOME of these dates. Tests start at 8:00 a.m. and end around lunch time. Parents from any grade level can volunteer.
In order to proctor, you'll need to attend a proctor training. To volunteer, please click this link and select your training date! You will also need to have had a background check through Asheville City Schools. See article below for more information if you haven't already had an ACS background check.
