School360 Learning Journal
Integration with the Northumberland School Readiness Passport will be completed in the Autumn, at which point you will be able to filter and search through your School360 observations to inform and support your passport summative assessments.
If you are new to the School360 learning journal you can find a recording of our most recent training session HERE.
Please also see details below of a new Learning Journal / Readiness Passport workshop running in the Autumn term. This will be delivered jointly by the Northumberland ICT and EYFS teams.
Lego League Winners 2021
We were in awe of those schools who chose to take part during what has been a very trying year. We spoke to groups of pupils via a video call who took us through their presentations, their robot challenge and then answered our questions brilliantly. We hope you're all extremely proud of yourselves and we have to say a huge thank you to the teachers who found time to facilitate planning and programming sessions over recent months!
Our winners were:
Coach / Mentor award - Corbridge Middle School
Innovation / project award - Croftway Primary School
Core Values award - Malvins Close Primary School
Robot Design award - Meadowdale Academy
Robot Performance award - Richard Coates Primary School.
In the end our overall winners, with the most points scored in total, were Meadowdale Academy, pictured below - congratulations!
Next year we will be hosting First Lego League Explore and First lego League Challenge, please see the training guide on how to register your interest, places are limited.
Online Safety & Wellbeing
Pupil wellbeing over summer
On their pupil homepage they have 'report a concern' this sends a message to a member of staff. Please ensure you know which teachers are monitoring this facility over summer. At least one member of staff should be allocated this role and they must ensure that they have added their work email address in the 'edit account' area as this is where notifications of new messages will be sent. Further details HERE.
In School360 resources, within the Wellbeing section pupils can find a link to Ollee, a digital friend funded by Children in Need and created by ParentZone. You can find out more about Ollee HERE.
We've also added a selection of resources within the Wellbeing collection to help pupils relax and alleviate anxiety.
Cyber Security
An awareness of how to avoid a cyber attack on your organisation and how to mitigate its effects should the worst happen, is becoming increasingly important.
We're now able to offer a training session for your whole team led by the Durham Police Cyber Crime unit to make sure your staff are well informed and have the correct procedures in place in the event of an attack. Please see our training guide for further information.
Report Harmful Content
This week, in the aftermath of the Euro 2020 final, we were reminded of how important it is to report any hate speech or abuse we see online.
Report Harmful Content is a national service that encourages anyone to report harmful content online by providing advice on how to report harm online to industry platforms, including links to the correct reporting channels, and offering mediatory support where the correct reports have already been made to industry.
Below are weblinks to the main reporting site and the under 18's reporting site which you may wish to share with families and colleagues.
