From the Principal's Office...
Thank you to everyone who donated goodies or helped out at our St. Valentine's Day Celebrations this week. It was wonderful to stop and remember are blessed we are to have so many friends and so much love in our lives. It is good to be part of the St. Therese School Family.
We may have just passed St. Valentine's Day, but we are already gearing up for March is Reading Month! All students are invited to submit the title of their favorite picture book to Mrs. O'Connor by Thursday, February 23. Children may write the name on a slip of paper or the teachers have small voting slips. There is a bucket in the office to collect votes. We will draw the names for our very own "Sweet Sixteen Tournament of the Books" on Friday. February 24 at the end of the day. Classrooms will have a read-off and vote for their choice as we read through the month of March and choose a Book Tournament Champion for our school.
As we turn our focus to reading, we will also be exploring ways to turn off the tech and do a digital detox. See our first idea here in Growing Saints today!
Finally, we are seeing a bug make its way through the building (again!). This one brings on an upset tummy and diarrhea, but not necessarily a fever. Please remember that your child needs to be free from vomiting, diarrhea, and a fever for at least a day without medications before they attend school. We have attached a copy of the health department guidelines as a reminder.
St. Therese, Sts. Cyril and Methodius, pray for us!

Virtue of the Week: Self Control
Prayer: Dear Jesus, Thank You for all the desires You have given me, because they remind me of the desire in my heart that only You can fill! Help me to control my tongue when I am supposed to be silent; my hands when I am supposed to keep them to myself; my eyes when I am supposed to be focused on a particular person or thing; and my ears to listen to only those things I am supposed to hear.

Applications and Re-enrollment are Open for 2023-2024 School Year
We are already looking ahead to the 2023-2024 school year. We have opened applications for new students and re-enrollment for returning students. Getting accurate numbers helps greatly as we plan for the coming school year.
We do have financial support available, so, please, reach out if we can help!
The Question of Kindergarten Readiness
In addition, our preschool and kindergarten teachers are working together to organize a Kindergarten Readiness Round-Up to help parents gain insight into their own child's readiness to start Kindergarten and provide suggestions and ideas for additional experiences which can help your child be school ready.
If you have any questions or ideas, please reach out to Mrs. O'Connor. In the meantime, we ask that you keep our team in prayer as we work through the discernment process and make these important decisions for how to best support your child's learning and growth.
Turn Off the Tech: Draw a Selfie!
This week, instead of taking a selfie, draw one! Grab a piece of paper and a pencil and draw a selfie instead of snapping one! Where will you draw yourself? Will do you a head and shoulders portrait or will it be an action shot doing your favorite activity?
