AIR Testing Information
As you may know, earlier this week the federal government announced that they would not be offering state testing waivers. This means we will be administering AIR tests to students. Below you will find the dates for each test.
While the testing waiver will not be granted, the tests will not hold the same level of accountability for districts as they have in the past. Scores will not be published or used for district/building report cards and there will be no penalties or enforcement for test performance or participation levels. Results will not be used for teacher evaluations. Students will not be retained or placed in leveled classes based on their results for classes at the Greene School.
If there is a reason your child will not be testing, you will need to email Mr. Tudor (tudorm@sycamoreschools.org) with the reason by the end of the day on FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2021. Please let us know if there are any questions.

Transition Information for Rising 6th Graders
Class Placement Information
We are excited to welcome your child back to the Greene School for 6th grade. It is our intention to open school next year as normal as possible. This means we will go back to 16 homerooms for 6th graders. The homerooms will once again be grouped into four teams that consist of one teacher from each core subject (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies).
We will once again place your child in a homeroom with one friend. On March 22nd, I will email you a Student Information Form. This is an opportunity for you to provide us with the names of at least six preferred peers as well as other important information about your child. This means your child will be in homeroom, lunch, and recess with the preferred peer. They may also have some classes with them. You will learn your child’s homeroom teacher and team this summer. We will email the primary contact placement information. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept requests for teachers or teams.
If you have not already completed the form, click HERE (please note this form is ONLY for Rising 6th graders).
Information about Music Classes for 21-22
We plan on allowing students to take two music classes again next year. During the week of May 3, the music teachers will be visiting all classes to discuss the ability to take two music classes with students. They will collect information from students that we will use for scheduling purposes. The music teachers will then send a confirmation to the parents of any student who is requesting a change. Below is the contact information for our music teachers. Please reach out to them with any questions you have.
Mr. Tim Graulty (Band) graultyt@sycamoreschools.org
Mrs. Kristin Anderson (General Music) andersonk@sycamoreschools.org
Mr. Tanner Otto (Orchestra) ottot@sycamoreschools.org
Mr. Joe Dilley (Choir) dilleyj@sycamoreschools.org

PBIS Parent Survey
Note from Pupil Services - Preventive Education Initiative
Dear Families,
Recently we shared information with you regarding an exciting grant awarded to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Sycamore Community Schools as a part of Governor Dewine’s K-12 Prevention Education Initiative. We have started the engagement process with the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital’s Adapt for Life team, and we are in need of your feedback to assist our student, staff, and family planning. Completing this anonymous 5 question survey will inform our process and assist us in developing strong programming for our future.
In April, we anticipate hosting virtual parent information sessions about the Adapt for Life program and our grant partnership. We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks and months.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Lisa Zelvy, Pupil Services Supervisor, at zelvyl@sycamoreschools.org
Notes from Nurse D.
Spring is finally here! As you are going through clothing your child doesn't want or has outgrown, please remember, we are always in need of pants and shorts in the clinic. Elasticized waistbands only, no jeans. We are in most need of girl’s legging/pants sizes 10-12 and 14-16. Thank you very much!
Attention: Parents of 6th Grade Students
Two immunizations are required by the state of Ohio (ORC 3313.67) before the start of 7th grade. Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis booster) and Meningitis (MCV4). Your child may already have had them at their 11 year old check up. If so please obtain a copy of those immunizations. If not, please make an appointment for your students to get these two immunizations. Once you have obtained copies of TDAP and MCV4, send them to Laurie Dobrowolski RN at E.H. Greene Intermediate School. Thank you!
