South Elementary Named TTM LoneStar Math Regional Champ
One campus from each of the 20 Education Service Center regions was selected by Think Through Math as the LoneStar Math Cup Regional Champion and this year South Elementary earned that honor. This accomplishment is based on the campus with the highest number of online math lessons attempted and passed by students. The prize for this honor was a $50 Pizza Party gift card.

LIS Students Present "Write Brain" Young Authors
Levelland Intermediate students enjoyed participating in the ACE WRiTE BRAiN project with 4th Grade ELAR teacher, Michelle Constantino. Meeting after school, each student worked with a WRiTE BRAiN book made up of richly illustrated, lined pages, ready for adding writer’s content. The program inspired creativity and imagination in 15 LIS kids. At the WRiTE BRAiN Young Authors event several students read their books aloud to their families and classmates. The LIS ACE program purchased copies of the books to be placed in the library for students to read.

LMS G/T Students Host 5th Grade Science Camp
Students in the Levelland Middle School Gifted and Talented Program designed science activities to demonstrate concepts that LIS students will need to know on the upcoming STAAR Science Assessment. After a practice presentation for their parents, G/T students hosted more than 200 LIS 5th graders for a day of fun review.
