From the Principal

Dear Copeland Families,

Thanks so much for your support of our Big Kahuna fundraiser! Items will be available for pick-up in the Copeland gym on November 6th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. We are excited to announce that our new playground equipment has been ordered. Thanks to all who participated in our playground survey. The vast majority voted for option one (the Somerset with the Merry Go All). Our future fundraising efforts will support the purchase of shade canopies for the playground.

Copeland students have been busy preparing for our upcoming field days. Please send in your RSVPs if you will be attending so that you do not miss any of the fun standing in line for your -V-soft stickers. We are hoping for great weather. We will reschedule rather than moving the games indoors, if the weather does not cooperate.

We love our volunteers at Copeland! Visit our PTO page at copelandpto.org for volunteer opportunities.

Parent/Teacher Conferences have traditionally been held on Columbus Day. Conferences will be held on Election Day, November 5th. Columbus Day is now an instructional day for all students. The District made this change in the interest of student safety.

Speaking of student safety, please see the attachments regarding our emergency drills and terminology in this edition of the Hoofbeat. We practice all drills multiple times per year with all staff and students.

Our annual Veterans' Day festivities will be November 11th. Please support our efforts to honor our Veterans by purchasing flags for your child to wave during our Let Freedom Ring parade. The money raised from flag sales also pays for breakfast for our veterans. Flags are available for purchase on School Cash online here.

I am looking forward to our first cool front later today! Enjoy!

Clinic Request

If your child should need any medication while at school, please do not send it in their backpack. Per our district guidelines, all medication must be brought by a parent/guardian and non-expired in the original, unopened container.

Also, if your child is in PK or K, please help us out by sending a change of clothing in their backpack daily.
