A Walk in the Woods with One City, One Book
The Greensboro Public Library is encouraging all of Greensboro to read Bill Bryson's hilarious memoir A Walk in the Woods, as part of One City, One Book in September. The book follows two unlikely hikers, taking on the Appalachian Trail. Along the way, they learn a little about friendship, ecology and healthy living.
Look for teen programs, films on hiking, city hikes, nature programs and a recommended reading list (if you've already read Bryson's book) across the city. Pick up a copy at your library or local bookstores - Scuppernong Books, Ed McKay, Barnes & Noble, to name a few favorites. Our copies have already been checked out, but if you'd like to be put on a hold list, let me know.
Take a look at this event calendar for GPL's One City, One Book and take in a program.
