Announcements for Week of January 21-25, 2018
Monday, January 21, 2019- Monday is a Holiday to celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. The school building will be closed.
So Proud!: We would like to thank the faculty for coming together to get mid-year PDPs completed. Many of you had completed them on time. Thank you! Those that had not (21 people) were asked to do so through email and at the end of the DreamBox Meeting. By the end of the day, only 4 people had not completed his/her PDP. What an awesome turn around! Thank you so much for coming together to do that for our school/Admin. Team. We asked and you responded. That truly means a lot.
Spirit Week: Beginning Tuesday, we will celebrate "No Bullying Week" so all tracks are able to participate. Tuesday- Team Apparel Day, Wednesday- Twin Day, Thursday, Hat Day, and Friday is PJ day. Please remind your students and show your inclusive spirit by participating!
World Read Aloud Day- Please continue to focus your students on the WPAW videos shown in the morning regarding Read Aloud Day. Discuss what is seen and our "Change the World" initiative. Remind students about items we are collecting to send with Ms. Freer to Belize. Find out more about our Sister School at http://holycrossbelize.org/. Thank you again for your support as we try to have a positive impact on our global community.
PUE Chorus Sings: The PUE Chorus will be sing at Duke University this Thursday night from 6-9 PM. Come out and support our students as the are ambassadors for your school!
Germs, Germs, Germs: Have you been sick lately? As you know, it is flu and crud season. What can we do to keep ourselves and our students healthy? The best thing you can do is wash your hands. 1st graders have learned that you have to wet your hands first, then get soap, then wet your hands again to effectively kill germs. Good hand washers use hot water, soap, wash the front and back of hands, and wash vigorously and frequently. Other things you can do are: avoid shaking hands, clean door knobs and handles, eat well, exercise, avoid stress (good luck with that one) and encourage others to stay home if they have a fever. Lastly, wash or clean frequently used items such as clothing you wear often but don't clean (jackets, ties,) keys/key rings, cell phones, pocketbooks/bags, eye glasses, the outside of lipsticks/make-up containers, hair brushes, and the outside of tumblers/water bottles.
