Hi Parents!

Red Ribbon Week:
Red Ribbon Week is coming up next week on October 24th - 28th! We have a lot of fun things planned! Attached to the email is the different dress up days for the week! Please check it out and encourage your student to participate each day!
Reflections Contest:
This year’s theme is “What is your story?” Our deadline for Reflections is on November 1st in the front office. Here is the link for the PTA web site that has last year’s winners in all categories. http://www.txpta.org/programs/reflections/
50th Day of School:
On Tuesday, November 1st, Kindergarten will be celebrating the 50th day of school! We also be having a "Dress-up like the 50's" Day! Have your students come dressed in their best 50's clothes as we celebrate this special day! Please do not feel the need to purchase anything! You can use whatever you have at home!
Book Fair:
We are thankful for books and literature! The book fair is coming November 7th-11th to our school and will be held in the Skaggs Library! This is an exciting time for students as they shop the wide selection of books! To help make the book fair successful, please join our volunteering team and sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4dafa923a0fb6-skaggs
Turkey Dressing:
This is such a fun holiday family project! As a family, you will disguise Tom Turkey so that he won't be eaten for Thanksgiving! You may choose to dress the turkey as a doctor, an astronaut, a farmer, a ballerina, a superhero, etc. Be creative and use many materials you have at home. You will have a turkey template that we will be sending home today along with more instructions and examples. The turkey is homework and due on Friday, November 4th, but you may send it earlier! We look forward to seeing your disguised turkeys!
Social Parenting Class:
Our amazing Skaggs counselor is hosting a parenting class on helping children develop social skills. It will be held on November 14th from 8:30-9:30am in the Skaggs library. This is a great opportunity to learn about knowing what to expect developmentally, how you can help your child develop appropriate skills to resolve conflicts, strategies that will assist your child with problem areas, and ways to support healthy friendships. Please look at this flyer for more details on how to sign up!
