Alief ISD student athletes currently rank in the top 10 in the district by MaxPreps.

MaxPreps 2019 Texas 6A Region 3 District 23 High School Volleyball Stat Leaders:

  • Hitting - Kierra Wright (Alief Taylor) and Madison Harris (Alief Taylor)
  • Kills - Kierra Wright (Alief Taylor)
  • Assists - Madison Harris (Alief Taylor) and Iliyanna Riley (Alief Hastings)
  • Aces - Iliyanna Riley (Alief Hastings), Madison Harris (Alief Taylor) and Jordan Carmichael (Alief Hastings)
  • Digs - Zana Bluncson (Alief Taylor), Kierra Wright (Alief Taylor) and Jordan Carmichael (Alief Hastings)

Alief ISD high school choir students advanced after competing in the district level of the UIL all-state process.

Six students from Elsik, six students from Kerr and nine students from Taylor advanced.

The Budewig Intermediate School Bulldog Cheerleaders will be performing at the Houston Rockets pre-game show on November 6.

The Bulldog Cheerleaders will be showcasing their Bulldog pride at 5:45 p.m.

Congratulations to Alief ISD's Scholar Athletes for the month of October!

Brianna Butler (Taylor volleyball) and Dean Roundy (Taylor football) were selected for their distinguished academic and athletic achievements.

Center for Advanced Careers teacher Sherita Harmon has been nominated for the 2019-2020 National LifeChanger of the Year Award.

Harmon, a health science theory clinical rotation teacher, was nominated for her dedication to her students, colleagues and community. Sponsored by the National Life Group Foundation, LifeChanger of the Year recognizes and rewards the very best K-12 educators and school district employees across the United States who are making a difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence and leadership. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000 to be shared with their school/district.

O’Donnell Middle School teacher Dr. Richard Spitz played with Theatre Under the Stars.

Spitz recently completed a two-week engagement playing in the orchestra for "A Chorus Line," a Theatre Under the Stars production at The Hobby Center.
