Riverside Report
January 2021
A Message From Mr. Kampmann
January Updates
Earlier this month I sent out a parent email requesting our drop off and pick up drivers not to make u-turns on River Road due to safety concerns. This situation has greatly improved and I thank you for your cooperation with this! This change has resulted in many vehicles turning into the subdivision across the street where many young children and families live. Several of the residents of this subdivision have expressed concern about the speed of some of the cars when driving through their neighborhood. I understand that this will not be as convenient but I would ask our parents to drive down to Clubhouse Road to turn toward highway N or Ringle Avenue for your drive home. If you do drive through the neighborhood across from our school I would ask that you are aware of your speed and please be on the look out for young children and local residents. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and flexibility!

Valentines Classroom Parties
We will have Valentine’s day parties this year, with a few modifications. We ask that all classroom party treats be commercially prepared, and individually wrapped. Treats must be brought in at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled party.
To limit the sharing of items, this year, we will not be exchanging individual Valentines cards from home or bringing in decorated boxes; instead students will create Valentines and kind messages to share with each other in the classrooms.
Teachers will send out more information about your child's classroom party soon.

PTO
The Parent-Teacher Organization (P.T.O.) is a vital part of education at Riverside School. Parents work with teachers to help our children receive the best education possible. We would welcome any new parents who would like to join and share their ideas.

Open Enrollment 2021-22
Application period for the 2021 - 2022 school year is February 1 – April 30, 2021. Wisconsin's inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a school district other than the one in which they live. The DPI web site to complete an on-line application is https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment. This web site will open on February 1, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. and close on April 30, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
Parents must complete an online application no earlier than February 1, 2021, and no later than April 30, 2021 by 4:00 p.m. Late applications will not be accepted for any reason.
At this time, once a student is accepted to attend D.C. Everest under open enrollment, the student may continue to attend the district without having to reapply every year.
For more information contact Tracey Blaser at 715-359-4221, extension 1237.
4K Registration 2021-22
Children 4 years of age on or before September 1, 2021 are eligible for the DC Everest 4K program. If you will be transporting your child, you may register at the 4K site of your preference, however, this preference is not a guarantee. If you require busing, you must register at your neighborhood 4K site. If you are unsure of the 4K site in your area, please refer to the 4K site map on the DC Everest website, https://www.dce.k12.wi.us. Please bring your child’s original birth certificate or other appropriate documentary evidence and immunization record when registering.
Kindergarten Registration 2021-22
All children who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2021, are eligible for next year’s kindergarten class. Parents of students new to the District are asked to register their child for the 2021-22 school year. Registration forms can be obtained from the D.C. Everest website https://www.dce.k12.wi.us or from the Riverside office. You will also need to bring your child’s birth certificate or other appropriate documentary evidence and immunization record. You do not need to bring your kindergarten eligible child. If you know of a neighbor or friend that may not receive this information, please have them call Riverside School at 715-359-2417. Students currently enrolled in a D.C. Everest 4K program do not need to register. Parents will be receiving an email to confirm kindergarten enrollment
