Happening this week...
Students need to reassess their personal supply lists and restock if needed. We are finding many students have lost track of ear buds and writing utensils over the Winter Break.
Pre-AP Science ~ Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Marek
The first half of the week we will be working on and showcasing our elemental art piece. Next,we will be launching a mini unit over energy transformation called “ Now We’re Cookin’” that will include FOOD! Please be brainstorming of a recipe that is a family favorite that you can bring to class for the end of the unit project.

We will test our Physics Unit on February 7th.

This week we will be continuing our unit over expressions, equations, and relationships. Students will learn how to write, model, and solve one-variable, one-step inequalities. The test for this module will take place on Wednesday, February 14th.

Accelerated Math ~ Mrs. Morgan
This week we will be continuing our unit over linear relationships. Students will be learning how to solve one-variable, two step equations.
Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, Mrs. Strother and Ms. Peden
Students will continue their study of Africa through the novel the Long Walk to Water. We will be concluding the novel this week. Students will have a post assessment over plot and begin workshops on expository text.
Global Business and Professional Communication ~ Ms. Tedford and Ms. Owen
This week will will be creating materials that explain our personal marketability to a global business! We have been discussing the challenges global businesses experience and how we can use our unique personalities to overcome those challenges. Students’ projects will show this message!

Art ~ Mrs. Beam
This week we will be wrapping up our oil pastel unit! Students have been working hard on their landscape paintings. We will complete these, write our artist statements, and posting to our Google Site portfolios.
We will begin our next unit focusing on One Point Perspective.
Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert
Please help make sure your students are practicing at least 10 minutes a day and are getting their weekly scale videos turned in.
P.E. ~ Coach Dunson
Please make sure you are bringing your PE uniform daily. Jacket and sweats over your uniform are acceptable on colder days. We are continuing our Lacrosse unit this week with more skill work before we start games. Keep up the good work!
