What was the change?
The Scientific Revolution changed the way people thought about the physical world around them. The same spirit of inquiry that fueled the Renaissance, led scientists to question traditional beliefs about the workings of the universe. The most prominent scientists of this time include, Copernicus, Galileo, and Issac Newton.
Who were the people associated with the change?
Copernicus
Was a Polish astronomer, well known for his Copernican theory. His theory stated that sun rest near the center of the universe, and the earth, which spun daily on its axis, revolved annually around the sun.
Galileo
Born in Pisa, Italy on February 15, 1564. A physicist and astronomer, was greatly remembered for some very important contributions to astronomy and physics.
Issac Newton
English natural philosopher, generally regarded as the most original and influential theorist in the history of science.
Rene Descartes
Was a highly influential French philosopher, scientist and mathematician, who is widely considered to be one of the celebrated geniuses of the 17th century.
Johannes Kepler
Was a German astronomy and natural philosopher who was known for his ability in formulating and verifying the three laws of planetary motion, which are now known as Kepler's Laws.
Francis Bacon
Was a famous English essayist, lawyer, philosopher and statesman who had a major influence on the philosophy of science.
How did the change impact society at the time?
As science assumed greater significance, the question of the role of the Roman Catholic Church in a changing culture became important. While the church opposed the views of many scientists, it benefited from new discoveries that made Renaissance art and architecture possible.

This change helped our Scientists alot today in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. What these vintage scientists did was also let is know that the Earth has a Solar System and a Universe. They also let us know that Earth is not the center of our galaxy, and our galaxy is not the center of the universe.
